Hi everyone 🤍 I’m so happy to be back — and sorry for being gone for so long. In this vlog I’m finally traveling again in China, this time to Guizhou, one of the most breathtaking regions in the country. I also upgraded my setup, so here’s what I filmed everything on: 📸 DJI Pocket 3 📸 Canon G7 Mark III I get a lot of questions about who films my videos and whether I have a team — I film and edit everything myself. The shots where I appear are usually filmed by friends, my parents, or whoever I casually recruit on the spot, all under my very strict direction 😁

Ulyana returns to vlogging with a trip to Guizhou, a province renowned for its stunning natural landscapes. Over two days, she explores breathtaking waterfalls, gorges, and forests, guided by a helpful local driver who reveals hidden spots and encourages her to maximize her limited time before her flight.
For the past 9 months I've been living in Shanghai,
every single Chinese person who's ever recommended a place to visit in China
has said the same thing – you have to go to Guizhou.
I ignored them for as long as I could, I kept pretending I wasn't interested, but here I am.
And if you're watching this thinking – wait, who is this girl and why am I subscribed to her?
Trust me, I know I've disappeared for a criminally long time,
so hi, I'm Ulyana and this is my China vlog.
I'm finally back with a new camera, slightly better filmmaking skills
and today we're putting both of those to the test in Guizhou.
It's a famous place, it's famous for its waterfalls, mountains, lakes,
basically every postcard-worthy landscape you can think of,
and people even call it one of the most beautiful provinces in China.
Well, at least that's what everyone kept telling me.
And I'm here with a very, very ambitious itinerary,
fit everything into two days.
That's what I call intensive relaxation, guys.
Right after picking me up from the airport,
my driver brought me here and suggested I buy some local fruit.
At first I thought – great, here's the obligatory tourist trap,
where they sell overpriced fruit to clueless visitors.
But then I bought a whole kilogram of bananas, very cheap,
and I immediately became a lot less suspicious.
And as it turned out, the driver was like an absolute legend.
He ended up playing a very important role in this trip.
And I mean that.
He will change the whole plan of my trip and will help to book things,
to find the best places, the best spots.
And because of him, I will change the whole plan of the second day of my trip.
But we'll get to that later.
For now, let me show you my room.
It's already pretty late, so I'll show you the rest of the hotel tomorrow.
But right now, can we talk about bananas, please?
Because I swear, I've never tried anything like that.
They are...
Well, they're different.
They're less sweet than regular bananas and...
And, like, much denser.
And most of them are actually fused together.
It's so weird.
That's tasty, but very strange.
Anyway, good night.
And see you tomorrow, first day of my trip.
Okay, I think this is the perfect place to talk to you guys.
Where do I even start?
First of all, thank you to everyone who kept messaging me on Instagram
and asking me where did you disappear,
and nudging me to come back to YouTube.
Because, honestly, I didn't expect to get so many messages.
And I'm so grateful to you guys.
To everyone who stayed here, who didn't unsubscribe, like, I love you guys.
A lot of things happened during this time.
A lot of changes in my life.
But I still live in Shanghai.
I fell in love even more with the city first in winter,
then in spring, and now in summer.
I have a lot of friends now here.
And also my parents came here in winter.
And they did enjoy the city, like, a lot.
But they plan to come this summer to celebrate my birthday.
And now they even plan to come with my little sister.
I'm so excited.
I want to show her this city, Shanghai, my favorite place through my eyes.
Because I have a lot of my favorite places.
Cafes, restaurants, museums.
And, like, oh my god.
It's beautiful here.
But, like, a lot of places.
I really didn't expect this trip.
It was, like, the last moment decision.
So this hotel, I first saw it on Taobao.
And it was a love from first sight.
And it's, like, right in the box.
Right now I'm going to have breakfast.
And I'll show you everything around, guys.
Today's destination is Ma Lin River Gorge.
And I wasn't expecting much.
That was, by the way, a huge mistake.
Like a true local, my driver skipped the tourist viewpoints
and took me to several hidden spots instead.
Places you'd never find on your own.
Just random pull-offs by the road or behind huge rocks.
And suddenly open up to an incredible view of the entire valley.
And on my way here, I promised myself I wouldn't make another cinematic nature
montage with the flute music playing over it.
But, well, you see.
I mean, this.
It's literally impossible.
Don't judge me, please.
I mean, look how excited I was.
And there is a reason for this.
Until I was 14, one entire wall of my childhood bedroom
was covered by a joint photo of a waterfall.
My room was very tiny at the time.
And my parents came up with this idea to make it feel bigger.
And apparently, it worked a little too well.
Because ever since then, I've been obsessed with waterfalls.
So do I even need to explain why I'm so happy?
We're going there.
Walking paths run all across the park and often disappearing straight into the cliffs.
Water is, like, everywhere.
And I immediately got completely soaked.
But honestly, it feels amazing.
Do you ever sit in your tiny apartment and randomly think
I wish I were swimming in a mountain pool right now?
Because I definitely didn't.
Until today.
I mean, I didn't even know places like this existed.
And now the real question is how I'm supposed to stop thinking about them.
Because this is why I left China three hours on a plane
and suddenly I'm here instead of Shanghai.
Amazing, isn't it?
Well, I'm heading to dinner.
And one of the hotel staff told me I was very pretty
and asked me to take a picture together.
That's so cute.
I mean...
And at this point, I had absolutely no idea what was about to happen
just, like, an hour later.
The hotel has a restaurant serving traditional local food.
It's mostly fish.
Although I still have no idea what kind of fish
because my translator refused to call anything other than fish for three cats.
I have no clue what that means.
But it was delicious.
And then something happened that I'll probably remember
as the most beautiful moment of the entire summer.
Originally, on my second day, I only planned to visit the lake next to my hotel.
And I thought there wasn't enough time before my flight to go anywhere else.
But my driver, in a truly heroic effort,
somehow convinced my anxious ass that getting to the airport
just one hour before departure was perfectly fine
and that I absolutely had time to visit the forest of 10,000 pigs first.
Thank you so much, man.
Seriously.
He's legend.
But first, Zilong Castle.
I'm not sure about pronunciation though.
But if you ever wanted to feel like you're in the main character in a Disney fairy tale,
this is the place.
Inside, you'll find everything you need and everything you'd expect.
Like rooms, decorative props, and amazing views overlooking the lake.
But honestly, it feels like a little bit not a little bit fake.
Because it is.
And I saw a lot of people recommend taking a boat ride here too.
But honestly, from up here, it didn't look like that exciting.
But anyway, I spent about an hour exploring the castle.
And now forest of 10,000 pigs.
The park itself has a really convenient shuttle bus system
which stops at all the best viewpoints.
And the idea is very simple.
The full route takes about 2 hours.
But you can hop off whenever you want, walk around, take photos,
and catch the next bus and continue.
And honestly, there is not much I can even say.
It's just unbearably beautiful.
And that's the end of my little adventure.
So far, this is easily the most beautiful place I've ever seen in China.
It's definitely somewhere I'll be recommending from now on.
Just like every Chinese person who recommended it to me.
And I'm really happy to be back making videos for you again.
And I'm even happier that you're still here.
So I'll see you next Monday with a brand new vlog, this time from Japan.
Thanks for watching!
