Okay, we have seen the inviter, what we think could be the inviter, the save the date. Matt,
you've got that picture if you want to pull it up. Matt and Dan, there we go. Yep. Um,
what did you, I mean, what are, what are you making of this aesthetic? What they're saying
is she's an artist. Hey everybody, we're getting our first look at what is being called the decades
wedding. This is the celebrity wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. And I have a treat for
you because wedding planner extraordinaire to the celebrities, Joanne Grigoli joins me now.
Thanks for joining me. Thank you for having me. You were down there at MSG when this union was
happening, watching it all. I guess first, what, why did you decide to go out there?
Um, well, I was out there because I was called in to do a few interviews. So, so,
so I was down there and then I was right around the corner. And how could you not,
once I was there, the energy was so, um, in captivating that I really had to be part of it.
And so I'm like, yeah, why don't I not? And I was talking to people like, what brought you here?
Why are you here? A lot of people came from a great distance. I met one girl. She came from
Turkey, Istanbul. I couldn't believe it. She flew to New York from Turkey just for the wedding at
MSG. Just, and she, she was all just to watch, just to watch her and her parents. It was crazy.
It was crazy. She was the cutest little girl ever. Swifties are on another level. The fandom is,
is wild. It is wild. It's they, they are all in, they are all in, and they're all waiting for all
of these pictures to be revealed. I know. Are you, are you surprised that we haven't seen anything,
a trickle of it? We've been seeing basically social media posts of someone posting this,
of what we think could be the wedding, but are you surprised that it's been so much on lock?
Yeah, I am. I don't know what they're waiting for. I mean, there's gotta be a moment or maybe a day,
a number. Remember, she's a numbers girl. Yeah. So maybe we could figure out what.
That's right. Her numbers are like 13. So maybe she's waiting for that. Maybe,
because she's all about that. So there's gotta be a reason why it's being held back.
Right. Because by now we should have seen something. Yes. At least one image.
Okay. We have seen the inviter, what we think could be the inviter, the save the date. Matt,
you've got that picture. If you want to pull it up, Matt and Dan, there we go. Yep. What did you,
I mean, what are you making of this aesthetic? What they're saying is she's an artist. So
they're looking back. I just saw this. Someone was looking back at artwork that she has created
herself on pictures. They believe this may be an actual painting from her. That she painted this.
Yeah. That's what they're saying. Really? Yeah. Because if you look, if you could look back and
I did some deep dive into this, there's a photo of her doing a painting and this seems to be
the way she paints things. This could be hers. This could be her actual artwork. I didn't even
know that she painted. She's very artistic obviously. She is. It could be her artwork.
And it would, it would make sense because knowing what we know about Taylor, she loves homemade
stuff. She loves personalization. Yeah. I was watching a video where she was signing an
autograph and if it was a photograph that was bought online, she wouldn't sign it. If it was
a handmade picture or painting from somebody or a picture, she would sign that. She'd rather sign
things that are homemade. Done by the hand. Done by the hand. Yeah. This could be from her.
That would be fascinating if it was. It would be. You think about the whole
lore behind it. This is what the Swifties love. Exactly. They love a story and she is,
she's, she's a writer. She knows exactly how to do it. She's a storyteller. She's a storyteller.
She's a storyteller and I wouldn't be surprised if somehow either that was her painting or she
commissioned somebody to do that painting but it does track that it could be from her. Yeah. Which
would be amazing. Let's talk about the florals. We also got another picture. So, this was a social
media picture on Instagram from one of the Chiefs players sister. We've got that photo. Take a look.
Again, she said she caught the bouquet. The bouquet is a little bit destroyed because it was thrown
in the air but what do you make of what we're seeing here with the flowers? Well, it gives us
the vibe of a garden feeling wedding for sure, right? You could see the colors. You could see
the type of flowers that they are. So, she definitely had that garden feel which I think
it does feel like you've plucked flowers together and put them together. Yeah. I mean, I hope, well,
yes. I mean, I don't know if this was a throwaway bouquet because sometimes you have the real bouquet
and you have a throwaway bouquet. Yeah. This could be, I think, maybe the throwaway bouquet. I don't
think this is her actual bouquet because what we do is we prepare a bouquet that you're going to
throw. A toss bouquet. Oh, so you prepare a toss bouquet. Yeah. Okay. I think, I think that's what
this is. I don't think this is her actual bouquet. I would be shocked if it was. Yeah. Because it
looks a little. I'm surprised she never took this down that she was able to even post this. Right?
Yeah. And it's still out there. Yeah, it's still out there. The AMC CEO did a play-by-play.
He deleted those tweets. They still live out there but you were saying that they were checking in
phones. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. For any celebrity wedding, we check phones always. So, you have
like a coat check. We have a phone check. So, you walk in the door. You have to turn over your phone.
They go into something called the yonder bag which is a secured bag that can zip it up and
so it's it's secured and you get a ticket like you would for your coats. So, you'd all be checked in
and I'm almost 99.9%. That's what they did at the top of those stairs. Being down there, talk about
the level of security and is there anything that surprised you? There were just police everywhere.
The police presence was insane. There was, you know, we saw people up on the roof. So, whether or not
they were sharpshooters or not, I wouldn't doubt if there was. I'm saying it was a level of security
of a president, really. I mean and they shut down 7th Avenue. I got there because I had to do a
live feed and I got there at noon and by one, they had shut down. 7th Avenue was shut down.
All the barricades were coming up and cars were no longer. So, it was insane. It was insane because
three o'clock is when all the cars started to roll in. The first group of cars started to roll in
but even with staggered arrivals, which is what they did, there was security checking the cars
as they got there. There was a team checking their names and security at the same time.
It was intense. It was really crazy and it lasted for hours. Well, that's what I was going to say,
lasting for hours. Would you have done something differently? Well, I think, I don't think they
estimated the number of cars or vehicles that needed to transport these people in. I don't
think many people were, you know, riding in groups somewhere. Sugar Land, that whole group,
or that whole group, the people from, you know, the country singers were, but most were individual
black SUVs. As far as the eye could see, that's what you saw in two lines and they were feeding
them into a tent to the side, which they would close. I think to expedite it, because I think
they had to delay the start of the ceremony because they were still feeding people into the
area. I would have had double tents up so that you can do four cars at a time versus two cars at
a time because I don't think she realized 500 cars, literally 500 cars were being, some people
got out and started walking. I mean, they, because they realized, yeah, they were getting out of their
vehicles and walking because they had given up. You could see that they were sitting there for a
long time because I was sitting at the one corner from the garden and then you could see them all
down the line, 7th Avenue. And they closed off everything around MSG. We saw that happen during
the Knicks games as well. They did. Do you think that this is just setting a further precedent of
what's going to go down at MSG? I mean, what's to stop any billionaire from buying it out and
hosting an event? Sadly, it doesn't. I think it opens it up. Yeah, I do. I think it opens, I think
people go, oh my God, you can buy at MSG. One of those, right? One of those deals. So I think it's
I hope Taylor does the right thing and maybe, you know, pays these people what they lost for that
amount of time. And I think she, she may knowing her and how she is so aware of what, how she's
perceived. I think she always does the right thing. Yeah. We're starting to hear reviews now.
And TMZ came out with this report that the lines were long at the wedding. The buffet lines were
long. People didn't have a place to sit. Surprised by that? What do you make of that? I
am. I think you should have been aware that it's a thousand people, right? And then how are you
going to feed a thousand people? How many buffet stations were they were servicing a thousand
people? You know, you would have to have multiple triple quadruple stations mimicking each other
all around to eliminate lines. Right. So, and double lines, meaning both sided. But again,
we don't know what was served. I mean, you saw a lobster coming in, chicken coming in, you know,
you could see. But that was a miss. And then not enough seating. That is the worst thing.
You have people, women in heels, you know, long gowns, women want to sit. I'm sorry. I don't care.
You can go to the best cocktail party in the world, but you want to sit down. You want to rest
your feet. And you want to put down your purse somewhere. And how do you eat and drink at the
same time? You can't, right? You, you can't, you can't drink a drink. And then, so I don't know
what that seating was or lack thereof, but that was a miss. That was a miss. If that was true,
the true story. One of the burning questions I think everyone had was why does she do the
wedding at MSG? I think it's for the level of security. I really do. I think that is her main
reason. I think she was able to get in and out pretty much undetected, even though they knew her
car. But I still think it gave her the privacy she needed. The guests not so much. They were
there at her house watching them leave that tan SUV. Yeah. Was it necessary? No. No. You know,
could you have done it at other places? Yes. And you have some suggestions. Yeah. I mean,
there's quite a few could have done it. I mean, the Waldorf Astoria just reopened. That farm is
exquisite. Hold a thousand people easily. Yeah. You could have bought out the Waldorf. Why not
it just opened up. And because the Waldorf was home to so many presidents, they have the
accessibility that's private, a garage that you can get in and out. Should be undetected. Correct.
That was one of her reasons. Yeah. Ellis Island. Which was interesting. I didn't know that they
did events like this out there. They do. And they can hold a thousand people. And you don't
disturb the streets. That's a big one. You don't have lockdown. You don't have lockdown. Yeah.
What do you do? You lock down boats maybe in front of Ellis Island if they figured out that's
where it was. And maybe she has a connection to the garden. Maybe it was her first concert.
You know, she is all about nostalgia. So maybe that's what it is. Maybe there was a connection.
Maybe it was her first concert. And maybe there has to be a reason. You know, security. Yes. But
you could secure a lot of locations. You really could. You've worked with a lot of celebrities.
Can you share some of the celebrity weddings you've done? Yeah, I know. I worked with Robin
Roberts from Good Morning America. I worked with Al Roker's daughter just recently at her wedding.
I worked with Jamie Lynn Siegler. I worked with George Clooney before. You know, we just did a
huge event where Elgin Dunn performed. I remember that. I remember you telling me about that. So
you work with a huge level of celebrity. Was there one thing that surprised you about Taylor's
wedding? I think the love of security. OK. I mean, because many, many celebrities are aware
of security threats. Right. Everybody. But not to this extent. Yeah. Not to this extent. You know,
because I've done, you know, high profile people before, you know, Rupert Murdoch's one of them.
And we had President Reagan at the wedding. And this was this was the same level of security
that we had for President Reagan for Rupert Murdoch's daughter, which is crazy.
That to me is astounding. It is. You know, you get a lot of I've been reading a lot of
mixed reviews online that either this was tacky or a grotesque display of wealth on Taylor's part,
the fact that she can buy out MSG and close down and really upend everyone's daily life
out here in New York versus, you know, it just being like security or she wanted to do something
impactful or she can. What did she make of this whole thing? Well, when you pick Madison Square
Garden, you're trying to take a venue that is known for sports events, beer drinking. Yeah. You
know, and make it what it's not. So when you have to to transform something of that size,
it's going to take money. You can't do it any other way. So is it a gross overexpense?
You could have picked a venue where you didn't have to do that as much. Yeah, you could have.
How much do you think she spent on this wedding all in? Well, you figure we know she donated twenty
six million. So add that to the mix. You're going to add that to the number. You're probably well
into the fifty million dollar range when you at least twenty six million on the rest of it.
You know, double it. And maybe that's what she did. That's maybe where she came up with that
number. Maybe she knew she was spending twenty six million and she was going to donate twenty
six million match ahead of time, match ahead of time. Right. So that could be the number. But
for sure, it has to be at least that when you add in her donations.
How looking at this state of weddings now and you work with couples planning weddings,
how does Taylor Swift change the game in terms of what what are going to be the trends for
weddings coming up? Well, I think personalization is going to be a big part of it. Once these
details come out, I think personalization is going to be huge. You saw she come out with
that logo because we had a leak of the handkerchief. Yeah. Do we have a picture?
Can we pop up a picture, Dan, of that handkerchief? We have it.
And it shows that logo right there. Yeah, that's it. So that handkerchief, that logo,
that branding, we do brand a lot of our events because I think the branding sets the tone.
The tea and the tea. The tea and the tea is her brand. And you saw it. Remember the night before
there was gift boxes for the dinner and it was also branded there. Also in the shop that was
leaked from I think it was TMZ in the hallway, you saw the TNT went on that. If you remember where
the pictures were all in that quarter, there was also the TNT and her bar came out. I don't know
if you saw the unloading. We were watching the vendors unload. Yeah. And you had a TNT engraved
on the bar. Oh, so she branded it. So I think in the state of weddings, which we do now anyway,
right, they're going to make it personal as well. Yeah. If she did design her own invitation,
which is possible, you may see that. You may see people saying, you know what, I'm going to create
my own invitation, design my own thing. I wouldn't be surprised. And maybe she did or didn't. She's a
big baker, as we know. She loves to bake bread, you know, pop tarts. Maybe she, you know, baking
bread and hand. We've done that before. You hand out personalization because she's all about
homemade. The only thing about Taylor, she, she, if you saw a lot of her videos and how she engaged
with her fan base, it's all about cooking and baking. Right. If you ever noticed that,
right. Cookies and whatever. She did that for some of the chief's wives and players. Yeah. Correct.
For the games. For the games. Exactly. And I think she brought like pop tarts to her mom,
her mother-in-law and all that. So I think that's very much Taylor. And I think anything that's
homemade is very much personal to her because it makes it personal to the people. Yeah. So I think
what you're going to see is people are going to do things that are more homemade, more personalization
until we see the images come out. What else? But we do know that TNT branding was used throughout
the whole process from the night prior to the bars were branded. And that's what I saw coming
out of MSG again. To the billboards when they got married. So I think you're going to see that. Okay.
She's going to set the precedent for what weddings are going to be in the future for sure. And I
think that's why Owen is like on this. They're in bated breath. Yeah. You know, we're waiting.
Stay with us. We got to squeeze in a quick break and we'll talk more about Taylor Swift
and Travis Kelsey's big wedding just after this break. Natasha live. I want to shout out all of
our tick tock viewers or YouTube viewers or Fox local New York viewers as well. A lot of Swifties
out there. I'm not surprised. Everyone wants to know about the wedding of the decade, Taylor Swift
and Travis Kelsey. Joanne Grigoli is with me. You are the wedding planner to the celebrities. You
work with these kind of details, privacy, security. You also brought something up to
us on air last week when we were getting ready for this, the idea of decoy dresses, which
makes sense. But that's so much planning. It's like having to plan to cover up any details of
this. But have you ever worked with someone who wanted decoy dresses like that? I have.
They want to keep everything private. Right. So if it is going to be released to the public,
such as a magazine coverage, you know, that is usually the reason, right? Because if it goes out
before the coverage is hit, then they can't use it. So sometimes they will have a decoy dress.
They may have a decoy person in a dress, you know, like a body double. We've done that.
Interesting. We've done that. We've done that for a high profile client. And it's like,
are you kidding me? We have a body double. And then people, they fed on it and they didn't see
the real thing. They didn't see the real thing. And I think Taylor, I was surprised that I thought
Tuesday, her wedding was Friday. I was for sure that sitting here with you, we'd be able to go
through some more pictures, but we're still going through just drips and drabs of what could have
been the wedding. It's going to blow up once it comes out. She's holding it to her vest for a
reason. I don't know what that reason is, but she's smart. She's really smart. You know, I think she
just wants to create this anticipation and that's what she's doing. Everyone's still talking about
to come. I mean, and she's setting a trend now. So we're talking about the state
of weddings. What is going to be the Taylor Swift effect? There's a really good question
in our YouTube chat right now. Dan asks, what are some takeaways from Taylor Swift's wedding that
would be more practical for a more typical wedding that actual brides can incorporate
without breaking the bank? Maybe a great takeaway is do create your own monogram or your own,
your own. You want to make it your own. Okay. So what do you do? You start from beginning to end.
How I say to my clients is that your first impression is your first impression. So if you
do have a monogram, use that logo. And this is very simple to do. Create it online. If you have,
you can do it right on, you know, chat to EPT can create it for you guys. It's that simple.
Yeah. You create it online and you use that and you just use it throughout your process and
the wedding. So you would brand the, save the date, brand your invitation, brand your napkins,
brand the dance floor, brand ice cubes, you know, little simple things, brand the bar,
you know, so use that. I think it makes it personal. So I think personalization is the
takeaway here. Just make it your own and make it feel like it's you, you know, whatever that may be
with Taylor. Like I said, she loved to bake bread, right? I wouldn't be surprised if she
gave away little loaves of bread, but if you're, if you love to do something, or I had a wedding
once where the girl loved Twizzlers and we served Twizzlers and it was the biggest hit of the
wedding, but it made it its own, very inexpensive, but people knew it was her. Yeah. So try to pick
things that feel unique to you. We have a picture of some of the party favors or the raffle items.
So she had a raffle at her wedding. How did that work? Well, you know, I've done this at parties,
birthday parties, not weddings. We've done it at charity events. We've done the charity events.
We've done at birthday parties. So what they do is you have games and she had games. They said,
now, what type of games were they? That we don't know. We've done, um, like whack-a-mole we've done
ski ball. Those are the games we've had. And we gave out tickets and then you take those tickets
and you redeem it for a prize. Yeah. So what they did, they said they did that. They took these
tickets and then it went into a raffle and you put your ticket in there. And then she raffled off.
I believe it was Cartier watches. We've got a picture of, um, what we think might have been
the Cartier watch and, um, bags. And yeah, apparently. No. Okay. Okay. Imagine that gold
and look like the Panthier Cartier watch. I mean, whether that's true or not, I find that fascinating
that she did that. That's fascinating. I've never seen that at a wedding before. Like a raffle for
a watch or raffle for something. Right. Right. For anything. Apparently they gave away the car.
That I saw that too. Okay. So that was being rolled out of the seaport. So that, so that was
I thought that that was the car that they would leave in, but they said it was raffled off again.
This is all hearsay right now. Right. Right. If you did do that, that's really cool. Can you do
it for your own wedding? You could, if you wanted to do a little raffle for your wedding. I mean,
what I would say is if I was going to raffle off something at my wedding, I think with Taylor,
the philanthropic end to this is what's going to, I think, start to be in part of weddings.
And I love that because I'm a philanthropic person. Yeah, absolutely. So I think that if
you add a philanthropic arm to your wedding, you're giving back to society something. Right.
You know, pick a charity, you know, instead of giving favors out, make a donation in the name
of your friends and family to this. You know, I think philanthropic is the way to go, guys.
You don't need extra tchotchkes. You don't need that stuff. You don't. Yeah. But I think anybody
can add that to their wedding and feel really good about what they're doing and what they spent.
Yeah. You know, even if it's a few thousand dollars, you've made it, you made a difference
in somebody else's life. Yeah. I think it's also like the Verma Foundation, like the Verma
Foundation. I think it's great. Taylor should have used the Verma Foundation as a charitable
recipient, too. For sure. You know what? I think that the guest list was really interesting. So
they had all of the guests. I think they probably bought out the Ritz-Carlton Nomad, right? Because
that's where everyone was falling out of people. Yeah. So that had to be that they wanted to
control the guests so they weren't scattered everywhere. And it just, you know, in an effort
to control what was coming out to the media. Correct. I believe so. Because I was there for
breakfast, ironically, the day after. And we saw everybody there. Everybody was at the Nomad.
Like the night, the day after. The day after. Everybody was there. But we saw pictures coming
out. So you knew like her best friend was coming out the doors of the Nomad. So you kind of knew
when you saw the pictures what hotel it was. And it was right down the road from the garden. So
it was right there. So I think that they bought out that. But most couples will buy out a hotel.
Not buy out a whole hotel, but they'll do a room block for their weddings anyway. But I think
Taylor just bought out the whole hotel because when you're dealing with a thousand people,
you need a lot of rooms. As one does. As one does. It's wild. Does it help or hurt Ritz-Carlton?
Did they need, did they need all of that eyeball speculation? I'm sure there's a lot of Swifties
coming after the fact. To watch. I imagine it's nothing but positive. It's just, it's, it's.
It just gives them visibility. It's just more traction. I mean,
does it, do they need it? No. But does it give them a little bit more status?
Yeah, it does. Because they very well could have went to the pier or the plaza, right?
Yeah. But they, obviously they're going to go downtown because, or midtown, because that's
where we were. So I think that's why, you know, it made sense for them. Because the other hotels
get traction all the time, right? When you're doing Fashion Week, they're all, they're all up,
right? The plaza, the pier, the mark, they're up there, right? Or the Carlisle. But here,
you're at this part of town. I think it helps this part of town. For sure. I think it helps
that part of town. Anyone stuck out to you in the guest list? Were you surprised by anything there?
Adam Sandler performing the ceremony was a little odd. But we don't know the connection,
but that is, that is different. It doesn't, in my mind, it doesn't say romantic efficient.
Yes. Or fairytale wedding. Or fairytale wedding. Or whatever she was looking for.
I think Travis brings a sense of sensibility a little bit to Taylor. Reality. Humor. More humor
to life. Yeah. I do. And I think that's the part of it. Because they said that they laugh a lot
together. And I could see that about him. Yeah. And maybe that's what it is. Oh, we do have the
watch. We want to show the, one of the raffled items. That's pretty nice. I mean, I would have
loved to win that. Or the car. Or they had some bags. They said, who knows what kind of bags they
had. Or, you know, pocketbooks, they said. This is a way to keep guests entertained. You know,
is that? You know, we're adding more things like fun. We want more immersive moments going on in
weddings. And I think if we're going to learn anything about her, maybe she's adding more
immersive details to the wedding. I love fun moments in weddings. I do. A wedding has the
same elements. Bride, groom. Groom, groom. Bride, bride, whatever. Two people get married.
And then it can go from anything. But you want it to be fun. You want it to be memorable. Why not
make it different? Why not? Why not? If your personality is like, hey, I'm into games. Well,
I say go for it. Make it your own. Make it special. Is there something that you saw in
her wedding that you'll start incorporating or suggesting? Well, I think I'm going to suggest,
for sure, and I do this anyway, more philanthropic arm to it. Like, let's find out. Let's make a
donation. I think that's really important to me. Yeah. I think that's a great way to
start your life off helping others who are less fortunate or foundations that need some support.
I think that's fantastic. I do love the game aspect of it. I do it now for birthdays. Yeah.
But I never thought to do it for weddings. Why not? You know, why not make it fun? Are you
foregoing the wedding registry for that philanthropic arm? Yeah. Usually most people
nowadays that are older couples, they have what they have and they don't really need too much.
And registering nowadays, do you really need China? Yeah. I mean, or donate to the honeymoon
fund. I've seen that a lot too. I mean, that's a bit. I'd rather see you donate to something else
who's more meaningful and more philanthropic, in my personal opinion. But, you know, most people
now have, they're living together. You have everything you need. What do you need to register
for? I agree. Yeah. And pots and pans, you know, it's like I could see that being changed now with
this Taylor Swift effect. What were the crowds like out there around MSG? It was not as big as
you thought there were. But I think the heat kept people away. You know, we had there were two pits,
you know, or areas where people were being held across from the garden. And they were pretty full.
I mean, you're pretty full, but it was hot. So people were feeling the heat. So they were coming
and going. But it wasn't as many people. There were hundreds. I wouldn't say thousands. Yeah,
there were hundreds. This was so fun. I loved catching up with you. We're out of time, Joanne.
Oh my gosh. It was great to talk to you about this. I know. Where can people find out more
information about you and your wedding planning? They could follow me on Instagram at Joanne
Grigoli or my website, www.ElegantOccasionsByJoanneGrigoli.com. Amazing. We can't wait to see
the pictures from this wedding. I know, it's going to be epic. And then we'll do a debrief again.
Thanks for joining me. You're welcome. And thank you everyone for joining us. Until next week,
we'll see you soon.
