Today I took Dawang to pick tomatoes. Unexpectedly, there were so many beautiful, old-fashioned cherry tomatoes in the field, a whole area ablaze with red.
These old-fashioned tomatoes have a beautiful color, are juicy, and have a soft, slightly crumbly interior; they're delicious even eaten fresh.
Back home, I washed the tomatoes, blanched them in hot water, peeled them, and chopped them finely. Then I slowly cooked them into a rich tomato hot pot. I also prepared shrimp cakes, beef, pork, yam, and green vegetables. The whole family sat around the fire, cooking and eating, the sweet and sour tomato hot pot incredibly fragrant.
There were still some colorful cherry tomatoes in the refrigerator, so I conveniently made some pickled tomatoes with osmanthus flowers. Cold and sweet, they were perfect to accompany the hot tomato hot pot.
