MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on Donald Trump panicking as Iran strikes 2 ships in the Strait of Hormuz after warning the United States and tankers in the Strait that it would continue to target ships that did not follow with the IRGC route and Meiselas shares other massive losses by Trump that have taken place.

Video Summary
AI GeneratedIran has struck two commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz following U.S. attempts to bypass coordination agreements with the IRGC. The speaker criticizes the Trump administration for manipulating oil market data, neglecting strategic petroleum reserves, and exhibiting leadership incompetence while escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Donald Trump is panicking as Iran has struck two ships in the Strait of Hormuz that the
Trump regime was trying to route through a non-IRGC route that the United States is trying
to utilize to avoid the Memorandum of Understanding's requirement that ships going through the Strait
of Hormuz need to coordinate with the IRGC.
The IRGC fired at least two missiles at commercial ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz.
A U.S. official told Donald Trump stenographer Barak Ravid, who writes for Axios,
the U.S. official said two commercial ships were hit, suffering significant damage,
but no casualties. We've been reporting about this escalation trap that still remains in the
Strait of Hormuz. The Memorandum of Understanding clearly says that Iran controls the Strait of
Hormuz coordination with the other Arab nations, that the first 60 days they would allow shipping
transit to be free. Thereafter, they could charge fees. The United States immediately
tried to breach that provision of the MOU by directing ships to use a route that the United
States has tried to control closer to Oman. Iran has repeatedly warned, you do that, we're going
to strike the ships. So repeatedly in the past, Iran has hit those ships and the United States
usually strikes a facility on Kashmir in Iran. Then Iran usually responds by attacking a United
States military base or bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. We saw that cycle happen before. It
paused briefly during the July 4th propaganda events by Trump and during the funeral of Ayatollah
Khamenei, which is the largest funeral in the history of humans, human history, about 15 million
people in Tehran and various cities around Iran. We saw the Trump regime manipulate the
oil market prices. It's why we saw Brent crude and WTI go to such a low level. But if you've
been watching the Midas Touch Network, I've been saying, hello, focus on the crack spreads between
Brent crude and refinery prices. The refineries aren't buying what's happening in the crude market,
despite Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Besson trying to manipulate it. I said, look
what's happening in the Strait of Hormuz. I mean, yeah, you have Donald Trump lying that 10 million
barrels a day are coming out of the Strait of Hormuz, which would still be less than half of
what was taking place before Donald Trump and Netanyahu's catastrophic war. I said the real
number is closer to 3 to 5 million barrels per day, which is less than a quarter of what was
happening before the catastrophic war started. And I said this escalation trap continues to
exist. Trump continues to lie and say the Iranian Navy is destroyed, they don't exist, and that
their radars are destroyed, and Iran is begging, and the people don't like the Ayatollah and don't
like the regime. And I've been saying, I think that's wildly exaggerated Trump and Netanyahu
propaganda. Iran has its military capabilities, in fact, likely enhanced since Donald Trump declared
a ceasefire after threatening to obliterate all of Iran and destroy the entire civilization.
And I've been showing you the footage of the Iranian Navy fastboat ships. I've been showing
you the footage of the Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral where you saw tens of millions of people.
I mean, you take a look at this footage that we've been talking about, where I said, look,
you can see the IRGC Navy speedboats. I focus on data. I focus on the satellite imagery. I focus
on what's going on in the marine traffic, right? I mean, so you see right here, 40 IRGC Navy
speedboats that were sailing in the Strait of Hormuz. And then the United States said it's
going to route these ships through the Oman lane, and then the Saipan Navy, IRGC Navy's like,
disabled it, boom, disabled it. LNG tanker, El-Rakayet, boom, hit very hard, disabled,
serious damage. Another tanker, boom, destroyed. Natural gas prices rise 4%. Futures trading
markets tank. Brent crude rises. And I've been saying, this is some fragile stuff.
Take a look at the strategic petroleum reserves in the United States. The drawdown continues.
US crude stocks in the strategic petroleum reserve, which is in an area called Cushing
in Oklahoma, fell by another 6.2 million barrels in the week ending July 3rd, dropping to 319.5
million barrels, the lowest level since April 1983. When that hits 150 million barrels,
which is likely in the next six, I mean, we're already at functional tank bottom,
like kind of right now, where any little thing can literally just destroy the Cushing strategic
reserves. I'm not trying to be hyperbolic. I'm trying to let us know the real situation.
Now, once we hit 150 million barrels, basically, that means the strategic reserves don't function.
And so you may be saying, well, why are we still using? I thought, I thought, Ben,
the Strait of Hormuz is open. It really isn't. You have about a quarter of the crude is actually
leaving. We've been manipulating the markets here, Treasury Secretary, Ambassador, by drawing down
our strategic reserves significantly. And we're still doing that to draw down the crude prices.
But at the end of the day, it's not necessarily translating into dramatic impacts at the pump
right now. And this is still, as I said, this is as precarious of a situation as you can be.
If you told anyone before this catastrophic war started, if you told anybody heading into 2026
that in July of 2026, you would be only putting about 5 million barrels max, and it's going to
be less than that, because I think we're close to a situation where the entire Strait's about
to be closed again. We know what happens. Trump responds, Iran responds, back and forth, back and
forth. But at some point, I think Iran is emboldened by what they're seeing on the streets in Tehran
and now in Qom, Q-O-M, at the area where they're doing the funeral procession. Now they're seeing
12 to 15 million people out standing in unity right there. That's emboldening some people in
Iran, more of the hardline factions as well, saying, we've got the support of the people.
They despise what Trump and Netanyahu has done. So we feel good. We feel strong. I mean,
that's what Trump has done there. And then again, I watch the marine traffic and I'm seeing no
ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz. And so I'm not trying to like, you know, again, be in any way
like prognosticating or speculating. I'm just saying what's going on right now. And meanwhile,
you've got Donald Trump posting weird photos of himself aborting the Qatari Air Force One.
He posted, you know, he's heading to Ankara right now for the NATO summit that's in Turkey,
despite efforts by Netanyahu to continue to trash Turkey and Ankara and saying that the U.S.
shouldn't give Turkey any weapons. I mean, leading up to this. I mean, it's a clear effort by Netanyahu
leading up to this to try to sabotage the NATO summit over there. Again, whether you think
Turkey should or shouldn't have F-35s, it's clear what Netanyahu is trying to do while he continues
to bomb southern Lebanon, while he continues to kill innocent people in Gaza, while he continues
to kill innocent people in southern Lebanon. I mean, that's been going on every day right now,
again, in violation of the MOU and in violation of the fake ceasefire that Donald Trump declared
with his so-called Board of Peace last October. So, Trump posts this video of himself at a NATO
meeting as though like, I'm going to be tough in NATO. I mean, look, in the White House or the
junkyard that's become the White House, but the White House, you have a photo of yourself and
Putin in Anchorage. You don't have a photo of you and Zelensky. How weird is it that above a photo
of you and your granddaughter, it's basically a photo of Trump and Putin holding hands in the
White House right next to the Oval Office? And then you have Donald Trump posting these weird
images of what he claims the reflecting pool looks like. That's not what it looks like.
Joe Flood posted what it looks like. This is what it looks like with ash, and it's green,
and the firework debris is all over it. And then Donald Trump was posting last night,
oil is coming down. It's because you're manipulating the market, but the actual
underlying circumstances in the Strait of Hormuz do not. I want the oil prices to come down. Let
me be clear. I want a route for them to come down. But what you're doing, you're compounding
the problems by lying about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, and you're straight up
manipulating the crude markets while we see what a tenuous situation is. If Iran closes
the Strait of Hormuz, boop, it goes right back up $30, $40 to $100 or more a gallon.
And then what are you going to do when you don't have the strategic reserves? Iran realizes
you don't have the strategic reserves. You admitted that when you were in Versailles.
Speaking of Versailles, Donald Trump then posts these photos from Greg Wisher at the United
States Department where regilding gold sculptures, the sacrifice is completed.
This means both arts of war sculptures, valor and sacrifice will be regilded. Yeah,
because the American people who can't afford rent and homes and groceries and gas and life and have
their health care ripped away, they're like, please, Donald, can you regild these statutes
in gold? Please. That's what we want to do. So Donald Trump also realizes that he's a fraud. So
he realizes he's going to have to ramp up the fraud as we get close to the midterms.
So he runs the same scam over and over again. Remember during Thanksgiving, Donald Trump lied
and said, Walmart has agreed to lower its prices by 25%. And then it had to be fact-checked. And it
was like Walmart recommended this year, less items, generic brands versus under Biden.
So it came to like 25% less, but like, it was like less stuff on Thanksgiving and generic brands.
Remember they did that? And that was like all on Walmart. He did the Walmart scam again.
Walmart slashing prices. This was the scam they pulled yesterday.
Great news. I have just been informed, Trump writes, that one of the biggest, best,
and smartest retailers in America, Walmart, will be lowering prices by a lot. Together,
we will make America stronger. Then he goes on to say they'll be lowering their price
for a pound of ground beef by almost 15%. My administration's lowering prices that Joe Biden
incompetently raised with the worst inflation crisis in history. Oil prices are plummeting
fast, he says. Eggs, prescription drug prices. I'm bringing it all down to historic levels.
We will make America great again. Other retailers should follow the lead here.
Okay. One, I think you're lying again. Clearly, I think you're lying again. This is a scam that
you ran before and prices aren't cheaper. You're just making this up. Oh, and by the way,
if you're criticizing former President Biden, who left office with 3% inflation and it was
heading to 2%, we're about 4.1% inflation. Biden was 3%. By the way, the inflation compounds.
You're 4%, what was last year, Matt, 3%. Right now, inflation is about 7% higher than Biden's
term. You promised to cut the prices. At best, it's 7% higher right now when you add 2025 and
2026 together. Also, there are massive job losses right now. Also, right before that disastrous U.S.
men's national soccer team game against Belgium where U.S. lost 4-1, the Trump regime was posting
the Iran – you know how Iran did their Lego videos during the war
and those Lego videos got popular? Now, the Trump regime did Lego videos of the U.S.
beating Belgium. But of course, the United States lost after Donald Trump called Gianni Infantino
and went in there to manipulate the red card situation. The U.S. lost to Belgium right after
Trump personally called FIFA to clear the star striker Balligan to play. Sports fans are calling
it the Trump curse. He attended the Super Bowl and predicted a cheap win. The Eagles blew them out.
He was there when the commanders hosted the Lions and lost at home. He watched from a suite as Miami
fell in the college football national championship. He sat in the owner's suite when the Knicks
snapped their huge playoff streak in the NBA finals and lost that game 3. He attended the
where the Europe topped the U.S. And this is what Donald Trump was saying in the Oval Office
yesterday. So, if Belgium beats us, they can be really proud. And if the other way they beat us,
I would say it was rigged just like the 2020 election. Here, play this clip.
And the game tonight is going to be amazing and we're going to have a full team
and Belgium is going to have a full team. And you know what? If they beat us,
then they can be really proud. The other way if they beat us, we'll say it was I say it was rigged
just like the election was rigged in 2020. But I won't get into that. Ladies and gentlemen,
thank you very much. The Trump accounts are right. Thank you.
As our editor in chief, Ron Filipkowski, writes. So now millions of football fans around the world
view the United States as cheaters who use political corruption to influence FIFA.
And we lose anyway. So much winning. When's the next war? Ron wrote that before.
Iran struck the two ships in the Strait of Hormuz that the US suggested or pushed out
in order to violate the memorandum of understanding while Netanyahu continues
to violate the MOU with strikes and attacks in Lebanon. Meanwhile, in Iran, as noted,
they're holding the largest funeral in the history of mankind for Ayatollah Khamenei.
They're hanging Donald Trump in effigy. You see that right there. This is what it looks like in
Jamkiran's Grand Mosque in Qom. That's where the funeral processions are today after
those massive million people crowd or million person crowd in Tehran play this clip.
And while that's taking place, Donald Trump was saying yesterday in the White House that
Nicki Minaj was the small business association leader. He confused Nicki Minaj with Kelly
Leffler. So Kelly Leffler runs the small business association. And Trump was saying
Nicki Minaj runs the SBA. They look different. Here's what he has to say. Play this clip.
Jeff is great and he's married to a person who's doing a phenomenal job at
the SBA. Small business. Nicki Minaj is so incredible. They call it small business,
Nicki. But when you add it up, it's bigger than any bank probably in the world, right? I don't
know. Larry, it's right up there. It's not small business, but she's done fantastically.
And then just to remind you, yesterday, Donald Trump said he doesn't know where the
Strait of Hormuz is. Play this clip. The famous Strait of Hormuz, nobody ever heard of, but
that is some big money machine. I'll tell you what, when you look at the numbers, Michael.
And then Donald Trump threatened to annihilate the Iranian civilization yesterday
at the Oval Office. Again, that's a violation of the MOU as well.
It says you can't threaten the sovereignty of the other country. But Donald Trump was,
I'm a big tough guy. And he lies and says, we destroyed the Iranian Navy. We destroyed,
you didn't destroy their Navy. Their Navy's actually reconstituted. They use small boats.
We see the small boats. They have more missiles now than before the war.
And they know how desperate you are and how they know about our strategic reserves.
Normally, national security and stuff like that, we keep it secret. But Donald Trump put Bill
Pulte, the guy who was a trust fund kid who was running the mortgage entity and was referring
all of Donald Trump's political enemies for criminal prosecutions. In any event, Bill Pulte
runs DNI, the Director of National Intelligence. We have like random interns as the top
counterintelligence and counterterrorism officials. So here's Donald Trump saying that
we're going to make a deal or we'll finish the job. We'll destroy him. Here, play this clip.
Maybe making a deal. I don't know. Look, we're going to win one way or the other.
We're either going to make a deal or we're going to finish the job.
Okay. And it won't be tough to finish the job. I'd rather make a deal because I don't want to
affect 91 million people. We can knock down their bridges in one hour. We can knock out their
energy supply, all of those big plants that they built, big, beautiful,
modern plants. They had a lot of money. They don't have any money now. We haven't given them
any money. But we can knock out their electricity and power generating plants. And I would say
small part of an afternoon, every plant will be gone. And they know that.
And then one of the top IRGC officials said the following to the delusional president of America,
who I say threatened 91 million of Iranians. I say, before this as the president of the rootless
country with a 250 year history, you had spoken in similar language about wiping out Iran's
several thousand year old civilization. And the result for you was nothing but defeat,
desperation, and a request for negotiations and a ceasefire. The Iranian people are strangers to
the language of threat. So speak to the people of Iran with respect. Otherwise, we will respond to
you in another language. And they didn't. They spoke in another language. They shot two ships
that the US was trying to escort out of the Strait of Hormuz. And now we're in a situation
where this is what I've been calling every day. It's what I've been saying every day is going to
happen. It doesn't surprise me. This doesn't surprise you. You watch my morning videos.
This will be reported as shocked or Western media will say, Iran violated the ceasefire. No,
they didn't. They did not violate the ceasefire. Trump violated the ceasefire. We can read the MOU.
We can read the Memorandum of Understanding, what it says, whether you like Iran controlling the
Strait of Hormuz or you don't like that. What you can't deny is that that's what's in the
Memorandum of Understanding that they and the Arab nations control it. They're the ones responsible
for it. Obviously, it's bad faith for the US to try to open up a secret route. Obviously,
it goes against the MOU to threaten the sovereignty of Iran. Obviously, it violates the MOU,
the first article to continue the strikes in Lebanon. Obviously, when Trump and Rubio did the
Lebanese agreement, which was directly contradictory of the Switzerland and Islamabad
MOU talks, that that was a violation of the MOU. I mean, it's obvious. It's obvious what's going on
here. Anyway, hit subscribe. Let's get to 7 million subscribers. Thanks for watching,
