The ultimate Super SUV just evolved. Meet the all-new Lamborghini Urus SE Performante, the fastest super SUV ever (according to Lambo).
By pairing the brute strength of a 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 with a lightning-fast electric motor, Lamborghini has shattered the 800-horsepower barrier, delivering a mind-bending driving experience that defies physics. Today, we're looking at the specs, the design, the carbon extras (there’s lots) and the sound to see if it can live up to the legendary Performante badge.

The Lamborghini Urus SE Performante is introduced as the fastest super SUV ever, blending extreme performance with daily comfort. Transitioning to a plug-in hybrid powertrain, it combines a twin-turbo V8 with electric motors to deliver massive power and improved efficiency, marking a shift away from purely internal combustion engines for the brand.
We're all familiar with the Lamborghini Urus right? Practical, comfortable,
fast. Well there's a new one and it's even faster. This is the Lamborghini Urus SE
Performante, which Lamborghini says is the fastest Urus ever. In fact, it's the fastest
super SUV ever, combining extreme performance and driving precision without sacrificing comfort.
We'll get to the comfort bit in just a second, but let's focus on the stuff that you're interested
in, which is performance. So the previous Urus Performante was powered by something called
an internal combustion engine. Yeah, ask your grandfather. This new one is powered
by a powertrain. Ask your nephew. That combines that familiar four litre twin turbo V8 that we
know and love and it works alongside batteries and an electric motor to improve efficiency
and performance. And actually this is a big moment because from here on there are no Lamborghinis
powered purely by ice. Think about it. There's Rivalto, Phenomeno, Temerario and Urus,
all plug-in hybrids. The big advantage of the new powertrain? Power. 812 horsepower,
1000 newton metres of torque, 0-62 in 3.3 seconds. Outside of electric performance SUVs,
there's nothing quicker. According to Lamborghini anyway, but more on that in a second.
Now let's discuss the looks. It's got a brand new front grille which has what they call an
omega shape. Bigger, angrier, way more aggressive than before. We'll get back to that in a second,
but also this bonnet is full carbon fibre. As standard it comes in body colour, but you get
the option of these exposed carbon elements on either side plus this power bulge which is in
colour in the middle. The bonnet also has these vents which work as a kind of S-duct. They
basically help to remove pressure from under the bonnet and contribute to 22% more downforce at
the front. And there's lots of carbon. There's carbon here, carbon on these vents, carbon here,
carbon on the splitter and the carbon doesn't stop there. Let's go on a little carbon hunt,
shall we? The car has a wider track with wider arches finished in carbon with special air vents
that allow the formation of an air curtain in front of the wheels to reduce turbulence. There's
carbon on this decorative element on the side and of course a carbon door mirror as you'd expect,
but then there's even a carbon B-pillar which is a very fetching addition just above the carbon
side skirt and a carbon finisher on the rear wheel arch with a trailing vent to control airflow.
You want more carbon? Yeah, we got more carbon at the back. Let's actually focus on these spoilers
though. Why have one spoiler when you can have two? We got this high level one up here which looks
like the one you got on the Aventador with carbon on both sides at the end and then this boot lid
spoiler just here which is massive. These two combine to improve overall downforce by 16%.
The lights are the same as before but these inserts around the lights are new. The rear hatch
has a slightly different profile to the previous US Performante plus look at these exhausts. Nestled
beneath that huge carbon diffuser is a brand new titanium Akrapovic exhaust system with an
independent split bank design that eliminates cross turbulence for what Lambo say is a sharper
unmuffled V8 growl and it sounds like this. Have a look at this, we found even more carbon. So
apparently this carbon bonnet weighs nine kilograms which is three to four kilograms
lighter than the aluminium one. Anyway, let's talk performance. So Lambo say this is the fastest
super SUV on the planet. Let's compare that to the previous Performante, shall we? It's got 146 more
horsepower, 150 newton meters more torque, the same 0-62 time of 3.3 but 0-124 is 0.7 seconds
quicker and the top speed is 194 miles an hour, four miles an hour faster but this is the
interesting bit, this car is one mile an hour quicker than an Aston Martin DBX and that one
mile an hour makes all the difference. I quite like it in here, I mean I would like to see the
Euros get a substantial interior upgrade but it's not bad, it's familiar, it's homely. I like these
new seats with Performante script on the back end, this Corsa-Tex Dynamica fabric in the middle and
these ribbed sections on the outside, those are leather, quite a nice design. Carbon fibre in the
middle and loads of Corsa-Tex Dynamica on the dashboard and on the steering wheel to give it a
sporty feel plus this hexagon stitching in the doors, that is a really nice touch. Let's talk
driving modes though because down here on the Anima switch we have a rally mode. I'm thinking
back to when I first drove the Euros Performante and that thing could really drift.
So I imagine this is going to be more of the same and that rally mode is going to be a heck of a
good time when you're whazzing around on dirt and gravel or in a Sainsbury's car park, don't do that
but yeah decent interior. Now a quick word on driving dynamics and weight saving, the SE Performante
is 32 kilos lighter than the standard SE, although the batteries do add 323 kilograms over the
previous gen Performante, but it should handle well thanks to the inclusion of a 6D sensor,
first seen on the Phenomeno, which helps the car predict how it should react in every situation.
Plus there's a new integrated power brake system, IPB, that eliminates the on-off interventions you
get with a normal ABS system in favour of continuous fluid modulation. Together they
provide 9% better braking compared to the previous Euros Performante and 6% faster manoeuvring.
So there we go, the Lamborghini Euros SE Performante, apparently the fastest
super SUV on the planet. Is it the best though? We'll have to wait and see when we actually get
to drive the thing. In the meantime, what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments and as
always don't forget to like and subscribe and I will see you on the next one. Ciao!
