What If Sirius Raised Harry The Childhood He Deserved

The brave old days are long gone. Now I keep asking myself how we never saw it. That rat sits in Azkaban, yet my soul knows no peace. But Harry still needs me. And for him, I have to stay strong. I rarely wild and free With Remus near our loyalty You ran through halls with reckless schemes Then braided stars into my seams I raised you son of moon and flame No curse could ever steal your name Rules taught you the truth Outside of schools With every scar And every fall You stood back up You had it all I wasn't sure I'd fill his shoes Your father's mind too wild to lose But in your eyes His light still burned A strength that pain had never done I raised you Harry, soul so true With Remus too, we both pulled through You wore their every scar And chased their echoes near and far Raised you now, with no shame To know their sun still burns aflame We raised our drinks in quiet flame Spoke Lily's light, James' untamed name You had your fun With Chocolate Frog I played you Harry, soul so true We shared ice creams, the summer haze Remus read you of old brave days Then Christmas came, a golden snitch You held it tight, pure magic twitch Remus gave you your dreamed out broom You learned to fly through twilight gloom And while you soared the sky so wide I built a snowman full of pride Left in time With Hogwarts ink, a spark, a sign You looked at me with shining eyes Is this my path? Go claim the scouts and friends you made a home And as you walked that hallowed hall No love still answers every call I raised you to show the stars and fight Now go because I'll be right here
