On this, the halfway mark of 2026, we are looking ahead to what may be the
year's hottest stretch so far. That's right. The temperatures are pretty hot
and over the next few days it's gonna get hotter. That means from Towson to
Phil's point, you'll want to take care when you step outside and for how long
you're outside. Well, let's get our first look at the temperature change
we'll see over the rest of the week. Chief meteorologist Roger Bailey has a
first look at our forecast. It is just gonna be steamier and steamier. We're
gonna call you mcsteamy. Sounds like a compliment. I'll take it, Mary,
especially from you. What we will talk about, though, is definitely while it's
already kind of hot now, it's just gonna get a whole lot worse. So for anyone
using that word hot now, it's getting ready to change the definition by
tomorrow. Today, very warm. That extreme heat will be building in Wednesday
through Saturday. We are weather alert. That's four straight days of high heat
on will continue to be seeing this through even into Sunday a bit to those
impacts. Triple digit temperatures. The heat index 105 to 115 degrees. That's
pretty much everybody right now. Heat advisories are in effect for tomorrow.
The heat advisory is a level below a heat warning. So that's tomorrow where
we're still expecting high heat. It just will not be as extreme as what
we're expecting thursday and friday. So extreme heat watches are in effect.
Remember, watches usually come before warnings and we will likely see these
all change over to extreme heat warnings by tomorrow. Again, they
usually go into effect about 24 hours prior. So they will be heating up
quickly. Tomorrow will already be closing in a 90 degrees by 10 30 11 a.m.
And we'll be in the upper nineties by the late afternoon. The heat index is
gonna be pretty brutal. We're gonna talk more about exactly how hot it's going
to get and more importantly, how hot it's going to feel out there to where
we could see some relief. All that coming up. I'm mary bubala. Thank you
for watching. Here's another video for you to watch. Also take some time to
subscribe to our youtube channel.
