June 25, 2026 saw the final carrier operations in the 60-year career of the C-2A Greyhound (commonly called COD for Carrier Onboard Delivery) when two C-2s from VRC-40 "Rawhides" flew Vice Adm. Doug Perry, Commander of US 2nd Fleet, and other visitors to the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) approximately 100 miles off the North Carolina coast. The visit was part of FLEETEX 250, a large exercise bringing together 26 ships from 14 different countries for training and a formation photo op, including an 11-ship aircraft formation flyover of the fleet.
