Building Watches in... Montana?

American watch assembly done right. Dave Berghold is a 30-year watchmaker and the founder of The Last Windup in Bozeman, Montana — and also, as it happens, the very first dealer of Islander watches. Today we're looking at his latest release and a revisit of his field watches.

DB Model 3 — The Regulator (35 pieces)
A regulator is a specific style of watch where the minute hand takes center stage — long, slender, and precise — while hours are displayed separately at 12 o'clock and running seconds sit at 6. The format gets its name from the master timepieces watchmakers once used to set and regulate other clocks. Minutes matter most.

The case arrives in a handmade box crafted from reclaimed fir salvaged from a historic 1893 Bozeman farmhouse. The DB initials are burned into the lid. Certificate of authenticity included. Only 35 exist.
