Good evening and welcome to 22 News at 10. I'm Kaylee Thomas. An investigation is underway after
a crash involving a PVTA bus and an SUV has left multiple people injured. 22 News reporter
Arecha Odiah shares what we know so far. A PVTA bus and an SUV colliding on Main Street in
Springfield. Video sent from a viewer captures the moments just after the crash that happened
around 7 30 Saturday morning. Look at the bus here it's rammed into Milano Imported Fine Foods.
Luckily that building has been abandoned since February but there's lots of damage done to the
structure. Fire, police and construction crews all on scene with locals nearby coming out to watch.
When I was sleeping I heard it it was mad loud it sounded like the screech it low-key scared me a
little bit but I woke up checked it out it was looking mad crazy outside it's just like what
what's going on in the world now. Cleanup efforts were quickly underway to first remove the bus
then clear any debris like the traffic light pole that had fallen. The scene was secured right
before 11 a.m when the bus was finally towed away. According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew
Pamonte three people were transported to the hospital with injuries. The bus driver and the
two occupants in the SUV. A PVTA official said in a statement to 22 News that PVTA is cooperating
with local authorities following the accident involving one of their buses and based on the
preliminary review they say they're not at fault. And as more details come to light police say their
traffic unit is investigating. Working for you, Aretha Odaya, 22 News.
