____________________
A U.S. national security designation is being challenged in court. Alibaba sued the Pentagon
on Tuesday over its decision to designate the company as a Chinese military company
operating in the U.S. The listing bans Alibaba from doing business with the War Department.
Alibaba claims it has no ties to the Chinese military and demands to be removed from the list.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to entities' request for comment.
Such lawsuits are not a first. Chinese drone maker DJI and a LiDAR sensor manufacturer
also sued the Pentagon for being added to the blacklist. Both companies lost their cases.
Casey Fleming, chairman and CEO of Black Ops Partners,
says there's a possibility that these lawsuits are backed by the Chinese regime.
Everything is backed by the Chinese Communist Party. Remember, again,
everything in China is completely controlled by the Chinese Communist Party,
a total, dark, diabolical and oppressive machine. So all of this is very concerning.
But the other thing is there really is no merit. At what point do we, the American people,
are we obligated to purchase products from China? We're not.
