A training program at an American public university has helped build a large number
of Communist Party elites for China, and Beijing pays millions each year for the program.
A report by analytical firm Strategy Risks says for more than two decades,
Missouri State University has run an MBA program involving more than 1,500 current
and future managers for Chinese state-owned enterprises and government bodies.
The report adds that some graduates of the program went on to secure senior positions
at U.S.-sanctioned Chinese firms, including companies tied to China's defense industry.
Beijing reportedly pays the Missouri State University millions of dollars annually
to keep the program running.
The university told us that no American taxpayer funds supported the program,
and that there is no evidence of graduates engaging in misconduct,
such as espionage or intellectual property theft.
