Selena Gomez in upcoming film projects (2026 updated)

Oh my god hi guys and welcome back here. It's Seliner. Take a snack or whatever, and without further ado, let's go. Selina Gomez might quietly building one of the most interesting film careers in Hollywood right now. And no, it's not just only murders in the building. Here is the list of every confirmed or rumored film project Selina is associated with. Let's start with a project that already has Hollywood whispering. Selina Gomez is attached to portray music legend Linda Ronstadt in a future biopic. So John, what are you doing now? Right now it's the biopic. Keech and I, we have Selina Gomez attached to play Linda. And this casting choice is way more meaningful than it sounds. Now you may ask, who is this Linda Ronstadt? Linda Ronstadt isn't just famous. She's considered one of the most versatile singers of all time in Spanish culture, moving effortlessly between rock, pop, country, and Spanish language music. Selina herself has said she grew up listening to Linda Ronstadt in her Spanish-speaking household. Linda Ronstadt has an incredible album that is in Spanish. Linda's, I thought, was incredible too because it's so musically charged. The instruments make everything sound so grand. And then you feel like you want to move. Reminds me a little Linda Ronstadt, 70s vibe. Oh, Linda Ronstadt. That's a flashback. Well, I always used to get told that I looked like her. Meaning this role wouldn't just be another performance, but a personal journey. Right now, the project is still in development and filming is expected to begin in 2027. The latest hottest news about this project is that it has been acquired by Miramax, a distribution company that has worked on highly acknowledged films such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Halloween, and many more. Lately, we've seen all the horror films, so. Okay, you like to be scared? I loved Weapons. Oh, yeah. That movie, yeah. Well, well, the dream of Selina playing in a horror movie might become true after all these rumors. Since 2023, she has been linked through industry rumors to projects connected to filmmaker Jordan Peele. I have been waiting for Selina Gomez to step into her role as a film star full time for so long now. And we are finally there. We are finally getting it. Selina is going to be working with Jordan Peele, who has written and directed some of the best horror movies of all time, mind you. Same day that he and his wife were seen having dinner with Selina Gomez. Jordan and Selina are working on a series adaption of the comic book Coyotes. And the concept for the series is like a Kill Bill meets The Last of Us. And the plot is that there are girls going missing. And knowing that these two are part of it, I am, I need, I need it now. So far, nothing has been officially confirmed, though. But the rumors are still flying around since they were caught having dinner together. Selina Gomez has been linked to In the Shadow of the Mountain for years now, a film about a female climber who conquered all seven of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest. Reports say the script is allegedly finished, making this one of Selina's most physically and emotionally demanding roles. For now, Sylvia herself has been spotted commenting on Selina's posts, a quiet interaction that felt very intentional. The movie is also listed on IMDb. One thing is sure, the project is not dropped yet. You might already know that Selina was casted in a project called Spiral, executive produced by Drake and directed by Petra Collins. The project had already been in the making, and Selina even shared teasers on social media. But reports suggest it's now allegedly canceled. No release, no premiere, absolutely nothing. Now let's bring this spicy rumor to the topic. Selina was spotted at a private screening alongside Amanda Seyfried and the film's director Mona Fastbold herself, known for Oscar-attention-worthy movies. Fastbold co-wrote and directed the movie The Brutalist, a film that earned major Academy Award attention. Her presence at such a quiet, seemingly random screening caught fans' attention, combined with Selina's own statements about wanting to work more with women directors and producers. There's nothing quite as pure as when two women are rising each other up. The moment feels like more than a coincidence, a subtle hint that she's quietly shaping her next moves. From all the movies listed here, which one are you most excited about? Leave a comment down below. Thanks for being here and see you in my next one. Bye guys!
