From peace talks to Pennsylvania: Trump shifts focus to economy in a key swing state

President Donald Trump visited a Mack Trucks facility in battleground Pennsylvania on Tuesday, attempting to shift attention to the U.S. economy in his first major public event outside the nation's capital since he signed an interim agreement to end the Iran war.
The trip to Macungie, in the Allentown suburbs, came as Trump works to put the conflict - and the higher gasoline prices it caused - in the rearview mirror as the November midterm elections draw closer.

With the midterm elections now looming, President Donald Trump paid a visit to Lehigh Valley today, a key battleground district in a major swing state.
Facing stiff political headwinds now, the President spoke to workers at a Mack truck plant in McCongee this afternoon.
That plant sits in Pennsylvania's 7th congressional district, one both parties see essential to either keeping or regaining control of Congress.
Actually, this is Walter Perez, who is there today and has the details tonight.
There are a handful of house races in Pennsylvania considered competitive, and this facility is in the middle of one of them.
The White House says President Trump's speech is about investing in American manufacturing and job growth.
But make no mistake, this speech is about the midterms.
President Trump spoke for about an hour and a half inside the Mack truck facility in McCongee, Lehigh County, before a crowd of approximately 2,000 supporters.
He discussed a wide range of topics, including the lingering war with Iran.
Trump says, despite recent roadblocks to finalizing a deal to officially end the conflict, at bottom, he accomplished what he wanted.
We're leaving Iran with no Navy, no Air Force, no anti-aircraft, no missile capability, no nuclear program.
But it's no coincidence that Trump came to a battleground district in a swing state with the midterms 19 weeks away.
He was here with the hopes of helping Republican Congressman Ryan McKenzie win his race against Democratic challenger Bob Brooks.
We got to get Ryan McKenzie elected.
As always, the key is those undecided voters.
The midterms often go in the direction of the party not represented in the White House.
And polling indicates cost-of-living concerns could prove a stumbling block for Republicans.
In the meantime, the Trump supporters we spoke with say they simply came to see the president in person.
President's in town, have the opportunity to see a standing president.
You don't get that often in life.
Sometimes he hardly ever visits any other states, so why not see him here right when he's in town?
I want to hear a reiteration of all his accomplishments, just so the public gets to hear it.
And, of course, I'd like to hear what his plans are for the future, too.
Once again, this facility is located in the middle of the 7th Congressional District,
a key race between Republican incumbent Ryan McKenzie and Democrat Bob Brooks
that will have a major impact on the razor-thin GOP majority in the House, one way or the other.
Reporting from McKenzie, Walter Perez, Channel 6 Action News.
