Soldier Throws Trash down Garbage Chute, Hears a Kid's 'Ouch!' from the Bottom

Gustavo was a US Army soldier bleeding out in the desert after a combat attack. He had closed his eyes and asked God to just let it be over.

When he woke up, he was in a small hut. A woman named Afina and her son Kassim — total strangers — had found him, bandaged his wounds, and kept him alive for a week until he was able to walk again.

He promised to repay their kindness if he ever got the chance.

He didn't expect the chance to come the way it did.

Three months after losing his mother, barely functioning, Gustavo took out the trash. He dropped a bag down the garbage chute and heard a small voice say ouch.
