On March 24, 1986, at Pākī Park, with twelve kūpuna, the seed of what would become Hālau Nā Mamo O Pu'uanahulu was planted. For this year's Merrie Monarch Festival, we honor the kūpuna of our hālau, both past and present as they are the foundation on which the hālau was built. These songs that they claimed were taught to dancers spanning four decades.
