The City of Welland will come alive with music, entertainment, family activities, and community spirit as the Welland Rose Festival returns from June 19 to 21, 2026, at Merritt Park in the heart of Niagara Region.
Founded in 1961, the Welland Rose Festival is one of Niagara's longest-running community celebrations. Inspired by Welland's proud identity as the "Rose City of Canada," the festival has become a cherished annual tradition that brings together residents and visitors to celebrate local culture, heritage, and community pride. Over the past six decades, the festival has grown into one of the region's premier summer events, attracting thousands of attendees each year.
The 2026 Welland Rose Festival will feature three days of live entertainment, concerts, family activities, food trucks, vendors, community organizations, children's attractions, a fishing derby, fireworks, and the popular Grand Parade. Admission is free.
The festival aims to strengthen community spirit, celebrate Welland's history and diversity, and create opportunities for families, local businesses, artists, and visitors to come together in a festive and welcoming environment.

Friday, June 19
5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
The festival opens with an evening of live music at the Merritt Park Amphitheatre featuring performances by Hezron, Revolver & Friends, and Howling Horns. Visitors can enjoy food vendors, community displays, and a vibrant summer atmosphere along the Welland Canal.
Saturday, June 20
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Saturday offers a full day of family-friendly entertainment, including:
• Dino Boys interactive dinosaur experience
• Irish dance performances
• Meet-and-greet appearances with Elsa and Anna
• Live music throughout the day
• Food trucks and artisan vendors
• Children's activities and family attractions
• Evening concerts featuring local and regional bands
• Spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 p.m. across the canal behind the amphitheatre
Visitors can also enjoy the festival marketplace, community exhibits, and the return of BlackRock Climbers with a giant inflatable obstacle course, rock-climbing wall, and bouncy attractions.
Sunday, June 21
8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The final day begins with the annual Children's Fishing Derby at Lincoln Docks, welcoming youth aged 15 and under. The festival's signature Grand Parade takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. along King Street, featuring community groups, performers, special guests, and colorful floats.
Following the parade, visitors can return to Merritt Park for additional entertainment, including live music performances and a Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach family dance party.
Throughout the weekend, festival-goers can explore local vendors, food trucks, community organizations, children's activities, live entertainment, and outdoor attractions along the scenic Welland Canal.
