Published as the tenth concerto in Vivaldi's Opus 3, L'Estro Armonico (1711), Vivaldi spins the finely wrought counterpoint of the solo parts over a rich and varied harmonic framework. Nominally for four violins, there are also solo parts for the cello and both violas. Hats off, Vivaldi!
J.S. Bach arranged this work as the Concerto for 4 harpsichords, BWV 1065.
