It's Adoption Day Finalizing our Second Adoption

Hi, hi, hi, hi. Life is good, life is good, yeah. Getting my diet. It's time to get feeling like. Thank you mommy. You're welcome. I love my sister. I love my Renny. Bottle delivery for Renny. Bottle service. This is something that is so exciting in our family. It's Renny's official adoption day. Story, we did this for you three years ago. But now it's Renny's. It's Renny's day. Yay. Story's day too. Story's day? No, this one's Renny's day. It's Renny's special day. It's a special day for our family. Okay. But listen. And you. Yeah. And Renny and Story and mom and dad. But listen, for Story's adoption day, we go and get a Christmas tree. You remember that? Yes. So if you're new here, we like to celebrate our daughter's adoption day in like a very big way. A very special way. So we celebrated our daughter's Story's adoption day. Hers is on December 4th. Open it. So we go and pick out our real Christmas tree. We make it a very special thing. We get new ornaments. And then we put the tree up together. Have hot cocoa. It's like a really special day for our family. Every December 4th. And for Renny, we've been thinking like what are some fun things that we could celebrate April 16th. Open that one. That's her official adoption day. And so what we decided is since it's very springy and bright outside, we thought it would be fun. Every year we'll make a family stepping stone. We're going to plant a tree. Got this right here. In honor of Renny's adoption day on our property. And then we're also going to plant flowers and have a picnic. So it's just going to be a really special family day. And I'm so excited for this memory and this tradition. I'll be honest. These days are a little more exciting to me than like birthdays or holidays. It's just the day where everything becomes official. And it's just like, I don't know what it is. It's just something that's really special for our family. And I'm excited for this. It's going to be a really cool tradition for the next however long we're going to have stepping stones that we make. I'm so excited. This is going to be really fun. I'm sure every year we're going to get better at this. This is our first stepping stone experience. So let's see how this goes. I just ordered this kit online. Hopefully it's good. I love a good craft though. So I'm excited. Make your garden stepping stone. Okay. What are we going to write on it? We have two. I was thinking we do her footprint and then the year and her adoption day on there. Oh, that'd be cool. You know? I like that. Yeah. But we could do whatever we think. I'll say one nice thing about Rennie. Story, will you say one nice thing about your sister? Something you love about Rennie. I love Rennie. Yeah. I love Rennie. She's so cute. I love Rennie because she brings so much happiness into our family and into our house. She's the most chill little sweet baby I've ever seen. Rennie's like, what's going on guys? Let me just drink my bottle and just chill. I love Rennie because she just has the sweetest, most calm spirit. She really brings such a sweet spirit to our family and to our home. And my favorite thing about her is when she first wakes up and she sees you, she gets all excited and smiley and happy. It's so cute. I love it. She's just so precious. Okay. We have to add water. Maybe when Rennie's like five or six years old and we're doing this for the fifth or sixth time, dad will be a lot better doing this. Aw. I'm using a knife. Using a knife, dad. Yep. No. You're supposed to hit it so the bubbles get out. Okay. Shake it a little bit. Ready? Yeah. It'll smooth it. Whoa. I don't know about that. Just wiggle it. Just a little wiggle. Yeah. Or this one. That was a little chaotic to do with two kids. We're thinking in the future a little bit. I think in like the next three or four years, we do this every single year. It's going to be a fun tradition. It's going to be something fun. And it'll be really cool to look back on all the stepping stones and see like the progression of how they were made. And so try to think ahead a little bit, and I think it'll be a lot of fun. We are at a local nursery. Part of this tradition we want to do ... Yeah, look at that. What is it? A big dinosaur? Go touch it. Wow. Go touch its tail. Rawr. Part of this family tradition that we want to do is plant a tree on our property every year for it to grow. So our first one we want to do is a peach tree for our little peachy cutie girl. You be the peach taster. Ooh, that's good. That's actually really good. You like it? So we've just been sitting here eating peaches. She has had three off the tree. I'm trying to find more ripe ones. You like this tree? I really like this one, and the peaches taste so good. Sorry, do you like this tree? You want more peaches? Yeah. Mommy's looking for you. We're still like a week before they really start growing. After taste testing and everything, we've decided this is our tree. This is Rennie's special peach tree. Story loves the fruit already. Rennie actually tried her very first peach. It's her very first food. She just had like a little lick of it. I think she likes it. But yeah, this is what we're going to take and plant. It's going to grow with her, and it'll be special. We can put our little stepping stone underneath. It'll be sweet. That was so awesome. I love that. I cannot wait to just look. I love that. That was Story talking. I love that. That was fun. I cannot wait to just, in the future, we're going to watch this video in like 10 years, and that thing's going to be just producing- Thriving. So many peaches. Wait, let me give a little sneak peek of what I have coming for the girls. What? A little peach jelly cat today, to remember today. They can keep it in their room. I think this is the cutest little stepping stone. Bella is obsessed with jelly cats. I love jelly cats. The girls have so many jelly cats, and they're about to have one more each. So we're here at our family farm. We're going to pick the spot where we're going to plant your peach tree. She likes that idea. Okay, let's go find the spot. She is slobbery today. She's so slobbery. Also, we recently got two ducks, and Story loves them, so she's chasing them around. Story and I have the flags. We're out here on the property, like Bella said. We're going to stake right here. This is where the peach tree is going. We're trying to think ahead in the future, where it'll always just be a good spot for it. I think in line with this one, right here. We got to put the flag right here into the ground, okay? Stay right there, okay? This is where the peach tree is going to go. It's going to grow big, and then we're going to come out here. We have oranges over here, grapefruits, and now we're going to have peaches. Rennie's going to help us. Can you help me push it in, Story? Yay, Rennie! She's helping! Come on. What is it? Show me. It's hot out here in Arizona, so we're going to get this water slide. Maybe make the slide go down into the pool. I don't know. We're going to set it over here in the grass. Let's set this up. It wouldn't be a special day without ice cream, so we're going to go get some Italian ice. Alright, so this is currently our setup for the Zoom meeting. Got the laptop propped up. Daddy, sit by me. It's really special because we have so many family and friends. If you're able, without dropping a child, to raise your right hand to be sworn. Renny Lynn Lambert. Oh, I'm so excited. Story, this is your sister. That was really special. It's always such a quick, fast thing. It's so cool to hear them say that Renny is officially a Lambert, officially a part of our family. You might have seen a couple weeks ago, we were able to bless a family by paying for their adoption. And it was such a special opportunity for us as a family. And we definitely want to do more of that coming up in the future. But we also feel pulled to bless birth moms and adoptees and birth parents. We wanted to do something today on Renny's adoption day. We wanted to be able to help some birth parents out. And we found the perfect place to be able to do that. One of our friends connected us with an actually a birth mom. And she does a bunch of different retreats for different birth parents, which I think is really special. It creates a really good community among these birth parents. And I'm actually going to drop a link down here in the description. If any of you happen to be a birth parent out there and you want to learn more about what this special organization is doing, you can check it out. We were looking at it and we heard that there are a few birth moms that need their flights covered to be able to make it out to this retreat. And so in honor of just Renny's adoption day and just how grateful we are for the birth parents of our two girls. Bella and I literally say that they're angels on earth for us. Because of them, we have these two girls and it's something we are forever grateful for. So if we can help out other birth parents out there, along with adoptive parents and even adoptees. We've connected with a few adoptees out there that have had wonderful adoption experiences. And we're actually going to do some really cool stuff with them. We want to help the adoption community as a whole. There's so many different moving parts and so many people involved. And when everyone comes together and it's all done right, it's truly one of the most beautiful things. And so we're so grateful. So basically this organization, like Don said, they do a retreat for birth parents. But they're a little bit short on the money to be able to send a couple of the birth parents that are wanting to go to this retreat. And so we thought it would be really special to be able to pitch in and make it to where they're able to go to this retreat. It's cool. They hit 102% of their goal. Yay! That feels good to do, especially on today, Renny's special day. So if you're a birth parent out there, we're sending you lots of love and we're thinking about you. And we're so grateful for you. We're actually in the drive-thru right now for In-N-Out, probably our family's favorite restaurant. And so we're going to grab some food and go have a little picnic, go look at the ducks. And it's just going to be a good way to end out Renny's adoption day. And fly a kite. We got two kites. Story really wanted Renny to have her own kite too. But the only problem is we live in Arizona and it's never windy. It's a little breezy though. I'm looking at the trees. Is it breezy? It's a little breezy. I don't know. Hey, but 100 feet up there could be a nice gust. There could be a gust of wind. Just in a little bit. I already picture it now. I'm just going to be sprinting my little butt off to try and get that kite in the air. Story's going to be mad at me if it doesn't fly. Yeah, but we're going to have a little family picnic. I think this is also a really fun thing to add for her adoption day. But it's been such a sweet, special family day. Days like this are my favorite. And honestly, the weather today, perfection. It was like it knew we needed perfect weather today. So I'm happy about that. What a good day. What a great day. It's a great day to have a great day. It's just, life is good. Life is good. I really want to see Don running in this field to try and make his toddler daughter happy. What should daddy say to the kids? What should daddy say to the kids if they took your kite? Wait, it's under here. I just ran back to the car looking for this kite. Wait, I seriously feel it on my leg. It was sitting on it. You found it. Under this one. It was under this one? Mommy was sitting on it? You? Yeah, her. I was sitting on it. There's one thing that's essential to kites flying, and it's wind. Do you see any wind out there? So I go like this. Lick your finger and put your finger in there. Any wind out there? I don't know. Do you feel any wind? Do you feel it? Nope. She said nope. Bella is just chomping at the bit for me to go and just run out in this field. I want to see you run, baby. I want to see you run. Yeah, there's people around. I'm going to look like a fool. Get that kite up, boy. All right, story. There's absolutely no wind, but I'm going to go try and fly this kite. Is it up? Yeah. Wait. It is. Can I get this thing up?
