How the letter 'e' should be written? Every letter in the English alphabet is written differently than the other one and there are even some methods followed to make the process easier for the kids. That's what we are going to teach the kids in this video and how we are going to get them introduced to the letter 'e'.
There are three steps in this lesson to educate the kids to write down the letter 'e': first identify and recognize the letter written down, second making the phonetic sound of that letter, and third to manage writing that letter down in order to practice the whole lesson.
All what is needed for this lesson idea is one paint color and a piece of paper. The parent will then start with writing down the letter a couple of times and ask the child to trace the letter with the paint. Before reaching this step of tracing the letter, it is important that the kid knows how to write the letter with the magic finger - which is doing the letter with the finger in the air.
Drawing the letter 'e' with the magic finger is always perceived as a roller coaster since it is making half a circle and then closing it at the middle. This is important for the kids because instead of always starting to write the letter from a different point and getting it all at the end, it is better for the child to follow a specific writing method in order to manage writing the letter correctly every single time.
Phonics and writing the English alphabet letters are always intertwined, because the kid will never learn to write the letter down without knowing how to spell it correctly. Identifying the letter and knowing the sound it should produce could happen before learning to write that letter down, but it could never happen the other way around.
What is phonics? Phonics are the sounds related to the letters of the English alphabet. Every single letter is pronounced in a specific way with a specific sound which is eventually referred to as the phonetic sounds. Some of the words in the English language do not follow a phonetic pattern and those are the ones known as tricky words which are supposed to be taught to the child separately (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3XSDGpgqOU).
There are lots of different games that could be used while homeschooling the kids in order to teach them the English alphabet and we believe that these are usually the most effective because kids love to play the games that are challenging and love to solve the riddles, and that's the reason why they end up asking for the game to be repeated in order to keep solving the problems and the riddles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk4W7Vjqmx4).
Parents and teachers might be using different methods and different steps in teaching the child but some of the methods are the same, such as those following the jolly phonics technique and which usually depends on specific steps and specific letters in teaching the kids phonics for example (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27qMpF434ts).
We have other videos related to teaching the kids the English letters, such as the letter 'a' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFLwaVW_0U8), letter 'P' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmmNwX1bPH4), letter 'L' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVL9oskIn10), letter 'S' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzwoPNQk1XY), letter 'n' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg0bhC0gqRU), letter 't' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT8ImgjSA-g). There are different lessons and methods of teaching these letters to the child, the paint method is one of them, but there is also the method of using Lego blocks or even using play-doh.
