Mixing between the lessons is one of our favorite things to do when it comes to teaching the kids something new and that is what this video is trying to deliver, it is trying to teach the kids about the different geometric shapes and at the same time teach them some colors.
There are different shapes found in the world of geometry, there is the circle, the oval, the square, the triangle, the rectangle, the pentagon and the hexagon. Every one of these different shapes is made up of sides and corners and every single one of them will be different than the other.
To play an educational game with your kids that would teach them about the names of the colors while mixing it with teaching them about the shapes and their names, you should bring them these shapes in different colors - real, pictures or even show them this video - and let them say aloud the names of these colors appearing in front of them. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdF96FG_vy0)
In addition to learning more about the color names which are related to the shapes in front of them, kids should be also well aware of these different shapes and they should also know their names and their properties. In this video for example, we wanted to teach the kids about the corners and sides which every single geometric shape has (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPNZ0Jblg_A).
The circle is made up of one side only and it has no corners, and this is exactly the same with the oval. The square and the rectangle are made up of four sides and every one of them is composed of four corners as well. The rectangle consists of three sides and three corners. The pentagon is made up of five sides and it also consists of five corners. And finally, the hexagon is also made up of six sides and it consists of six corners. These properties of the different geometric shapes are important for the kids to know about in order to generally understand what are the sides, what are the corners and how every single one of them is calculated with any of the shapes they might get in contact with in the real life (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ea_xGBiw1o).
Kids could learn about the colors through lots of ways; parents and teachers could bring several real objects and ask the kids to name the colors they are seeing and they could do the opposite and ask them about the colors of specific things without being placed in front of them. Another game could be about asking the kids to point the things around them with the color that you are just going to point out. These are different games that will help in making the idea of teaching the kids more about colors easier and more interesting for them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAEW-A-6mbU).
When it comes to the different shapes and knowing more about the 2D and 3D shapes and their properties, it will be easy for the kids to get informed with them through these videos we create before they could move forward and learn about them through the small toys and games which you bring to them in real (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-uRABe5sFE).
There are lots of games to play with the kids and lots of different ways to use in order to teach them more about the shapes and more about the colors; their names and the properties of the shapes. The most important thing is to keep examining the kids every now and then to make sure that their minds are still recognizing everything they were once exposed to regarding these lessons (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8elrAoIYlE).
One of the things we always encourage parents to do is to ask their kids during the day some questions which are related to the colors, the shapes, the letters and even the numbers, to make it always in their heads and at the same time help them in applying what they are learning on the real life they are living.
Mention some colors and let your kids spot them from the things surrounding them, and mention some shapes and let your kids point out these shapes but in the real objects they are seeing.
Enjoy watching this video about the colors and the shapes with your kids and let us hear back from you about your feedback.
