Learn the Shapes for Kids - Circles. A fun, animated video teaching children all about circles. Learn the different parts of the circle and other properties.

There are different shapes in the world of geometry out there and when kids come to the point where they will need to learn more about geometry, they start with learning the names of these different shapes and then go further to learning their properties.

Circles are the focus of this educational video and these are the ones which kids will get to learn more about this time. Kids might be familiar with the circles in general but they might not be well aware of their properties, so let's go on this journey.

There are different parts of a circle, and as it might be apparent that the circle consists of one side only and of course there are no angles forming it, but there are some different parts which kids should get informed with since they are the things that form the circles at the end of the road.

The different parts of the circle include:

1- The Radius: in the circle, there is the radius. The radius is the distance from the centre of the circle to any point at the edge of it.

2- The Diameter: there is also the diameter in the circle which is always twice as much as the radius. The diameter is the distance across the circle.

3- The Circumference: the circumference of the circle is referred to the whole distance all around the circle.

There are lots of objects all around you that are taking the shape of the circle, such as the clock, the buttons, the wheels - although these might be taking other forms (except for the wheel) but the basic shapes which people are used to in them are the circles. Of course you might look around you at the moment to find other objects taking the shape of the circle or even find small circular shapes in objects which are not considered circles as a whole.

There are other shapes in geometry that come in addition to the circles, there are the triangles, the squares, the rectangles, etc. and every single one of them might have its types and will of course be different in its properties.

Triangles come in different types, such as the isosceles triangles, the equilateral triangles and the right-angled triangles. Every one of these carry different properties when it comes to the shape of the sides and the measurement of the angles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8elrAoIYlE). Kids get to learn about the triangles and their types later after they get the chance to know what are the triangles in general and what are their different properties.

There are also other geometric shapes like the square and the rectangle which kids could learn more about them and their properties through this link about the 2D and 3D shapes, which will provide them with all the different information they might be searching for (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-uRABe5sFE).

When you get to teach something to your kids, there are some tips that you are supposed to keep in mind in order to examine them and make sure that the information you have sent, reached their minds in the most correct and needed way. When you come to teach your kids about the different shapes in front of them, make sure to let them spot these shapes in the objects around them or even show them different pictures and ask them to pick the ones related to the shape they have just learned.

Circles are from the easy geometric shapes that might not have much properties to be mentioned and they only come in one shape and type, not like the triangles for example, and they are the easiest when it comes to the kids and pointing out what they are viewing in front of their own eyes.

Was this a useful video for your kids to learn more about the circles and the properties which they might be carrying? Did they understand what a diameter, radius and circumference of a circle are? Could they play around and guess the circles from the objects that are surrounding them?

Enjoy watching this video about the circles along with your kids and let us hear back about your feedback when it comes to this video and the kids being educated.
