Quiet Afternoon in Longjing Tea Village - Hangzhou, China
We spent a quiet afternoon at the Longjing Tea Village in Hangzhou, China, and saw the unique staircase terraces that have been carved into the hills over centuries. It’s a landscape where nature and human tradition live in perfect harmony. 🍃
Known as the home of Longjing (龍井, translated as "Dragon Well") Tea, this village has been producing China’s most famous green tea for over a thousand years. Longjing tea is prized for its emerald green color, aromatic flavor, sweet aftertaste, and beautiful flat leaf shape.
We wanted to capture the scale of the emerald-green terraces and the peaceful rhythm of the village from above. It was one of the most serene places I've visited, just endless rows of tea plants and the fresh mountain air.
Grab a cup of your favorite tea and enjoy 5 minutes of peace in Hangzhou! 🍵

📅 When to visit: April (before Qingming festival) is the best time to visit, as it's tea harvest season. The weather is gentle and pleasant during this time around the West Lake. We went there in May 2023 which was still lush and calm without too much crowd.
