Multiplication has its ways and when it comes to teaching kids how to multiply, there are several ways which they could depend on and of course the multiplication times tables will always come on top of the list.

Multiplication tables for kids are easy once the kids understand how the whole thing is calculated and done and this will make the memorization part very easy for them because it will not be much of memorizing the timetable as much as it would be about easily getting the numbers and counting them in their heads - or even on their fingers, it actually doesn't matter.

When talking about times tables and the different numbers that have their time tables, number one is usually considered out of the whole plan because any number multiplied by one would come out the same, but maybe giving this piece of information for the kids will make the whole thing easier for them to understand and give them an easier way to know how to multiply the rest of the times tables.

Number one times table teaches the kid that any number multiplied by one will be the same; 1 x 1 = 1, 1 x 2 = 2, 1 x 3 = 3, and so on. This is usually for those who are still at the early stages of learning the multiplication times tables and you could even ask them some questions at the end of it all to make sure that they understand that one does not affect any other number it is multiplied by.

Math is so fun when it comes to teaching kids its different operations, whether addition, subtraction, multiplication or division and this goes back to the different ways that could be used; it could be through playing games on the white board or on a piece of paper, and it could be also with the different toys and games which the kids already own.

When it comes to multiplication, you could show the kids other numbers, such as two times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzjlp9UipEg) and three for example (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77gEdEUShiY) to start with the easy numbers and let the kids learn to multiply and count.

Multiplication tables for kids are usually about the numbers from one to ten because getting higher than this will make it much more complicated for them and that is the reason why kids should learn other methods and techniques to use when it comes to dealing with bigger equations which they will be asked to solve. One of these famous methods is the grid table method which makes multiplication appear so easy to handle and solve (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3duqrhE8Xw).

In addition to the grid method, there are also other games that parents homeschooling their kids could depend on, such as using the Lego pieces to help them in counting - for example placing them in twos and then doing the multiplication if related to number two - (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPW1bmLTFdA). Kids could also learn multiplication through counting on the number lines (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v0AjM0jcPA) and they could also learn multiplication through some usual games done on the white board.

There is one important thing related to multiplication which we should shed the lights on and mention and it is the multiplication vocabulary which the kids should know about because it is the one that will give them the chance to understand that the problem story they are faced with is all about multiplication and asking the kids to solve the multiplication problem. Kids will never know that what is asked is to multiply until they find the words which they will highlight, such as times, multiply, double, double adding, etc. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trlXHFaeZYw).

There are lots of ways, methods and techniques which parents homeschooling their kids and teachers at school could use when they are teaching kids math, and they could always get more creative with it all according to the tools they have and how they want to deliver the information to their kids.
