Welcome to our video about hexagons for kids! In this video, we'll be introducing you to hexagons and exploring some of their unique properties.

A hexagon is a shape with six sides and six angles. It's a two-dimensional shape, like a circle or a square, and it's classified as a polygon. Polygons are shapes with straight sides and angles, and they are named based on the number of sides they have. For example, a triangle has three sides, a square has four sides, and a pentagon has five sides.

Hexagons can be regular or irregular. A regular hexagon has sides of equal length and angles of equal measure. An irregular hexagon has sides and angles of different sizes.

One of the unique properties of hexagons is that they can be tessellated, which means that they can fit together perfectly without any gaps. This is because the interior angle of a regular hexagon is 120 degrees, and the sum of the interior angles in a hexagon is 720 degrees. This means that six hexagons can fit together to form a full circle.

Hexagons can be found in nature, such as in the cells of a honeycomb or the scales of a pinecone. They are also commonly found in art and design, such as in patterns and mosaics.
