Ultimately, jewels are emotional beings telling their stories and the connections of the people
who wore them. We are proud to present our signature auction of royal and noble jewels.
These are spectacular jewels that come with illustrious provenance. One of my favorite
tiaras in the sale is the Gisbert tiara. Like in most of these cases, this tiara can be taken apart
and worn separately, either as pins or bracelet. This tiara was built over time as the family's
collection of diamonds grew to become the piece it is today. Being offered from the collection
of a royal family in Asia, we have another fantastic 19th century tiara. I believe this
is one of the most interesting tiaras in the sale because of its versatility. You have a tiara,
but you have also the most beautiful necklace that can be worn. It's very, very sumptuous
because of the organic movement of the flowers. It sits beautifully on the neck.
Also, it can be taken apart like most 19th century jewels and you can wear it as brooches with the
flower heads or the stems. Another extraordinary piece in this sale is the wonderful natural
pearl and diamond devant de corsage that can be worn as a necklace and also as a hair ornament.
Some parts of a jewel are inherited from different parts of the family. In this case,
it's by family tradition the pearls came from Princess Kunigunde of Saxony. The jewel was worn
at a ball held in honor of Princess Elizabeth, who would become Queen Elizabeth II the following year.
In 1980, during another state visit, the jewel was worn again. On both occasions,
the Queen expressed words of admiration for the jewel.
This is a small selection of the fantastic jewels we're offering in Geneva this November.
