Pegasus is a famous character from Greek mythology. He is a majestic creature who is depicted as a pure white horse with large, powerful wings that enable him to fly. The idea of a flying horse has captured the imaginations of people for centuries.

According to the myth, Pegasus was born from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa when the hero Perseus beheaded her. Pegasus served Zeus, the king of the gods, carrying his thunder and lightning from Mount Olympus.

One of the most well-known stories about Pegasus involves the hero Bellerophon, who wanted to ride Pegasus to defeat the monstrous Chimera. Bellerophon was able to tame Pegasus using a golden bridle given to him by the goddess Athena. After Bellerophon's success, he attempted to fly Pegasus to Mount Olympus, but this hubris angered Zeus, who sent a gadfly to sting Pegasus, causing Bellerophon to fall.

After this, Pegasus served Zeus on Mount Olympus until his last days. Upon his death, Zeus honoured him by turning him into a constellation in the night sky. Even now, we refer to this group of stars as Pegasus, reminding us of the flying horse from ancient tales.
