Denver vs Michigan | NCAA Hockey Frozen Four Semi Final | Highlights - April 09, 2026

Bringing energy, and Johnny Hicks, the freshman goaltender. The guy hasn't lost a hockey game, Butchie, since he took the net over in January. We got two tremendous goalies in this hockey game. This is gonna be a highlight one. All four freshmen of the Frozen Four in net. Kovic makes the first spectacular Michigan Uniform. Faulty puck! Quick whistle down there. Draper, Ernestee, and Schifsky, save by Kovic again, and another save. Just 17 years old, and he has the puck. Shot! Saved by Hicks. You like to see early. With his first hits, Malcolm Spence, the second rounder of the Rangers, number 27. Here comes Denver. Shot! Saved by Ivan Kovic. The second. Denver. Shot! Saved by Ivan Kovic. The second shot hits the side of the net. These goalies went right up on edge. Harris has a great wrist shot. He's sawed by Garrett Brown there. Shot from the point. Just wide. Harris. One timer! Stick breaks and goes 50 feet in the air from Anderson as Ivan Kovic. Unders are retreating a bit early. They do not want to give up that early odd man rush. I like it. Valentini. Shot! Saved by Hicks. It's loose. He wins it. Hicks. Here's an exciting player right here. Perron. Top part of your screen. Duke of Michigan. Shot! Rich shot. Completed for Denver. Turnover. Shot! Tick. Tack. Chazowski starts it with great stick detail as he comes in and blocks. Ashcroft. Back to Reeder. Shot. Blocked. Bouncing. Unusually hits the big body. In front. Draper's there. Great power play back then because Denver didn't commit a penalty. That happened. Come out with it. Here comes Polkamp. Don't give him room to shoot. Rich shot on. Loveland. For the pile. Shot. Buckberger. Easily seen. Of a goaltender this year. Highly touted. A little better defensive team. An older. And they'll get going on their forechap. On the Wolverines. And Michigan needs one. Pass in front. Duke has room. Shot. Reflected up into the netting. Chazowski went down the block. Hicks was behind him. Battled some injuries, but boy has he been good at the right times. Score! Three-year-old senior from Apple Valley, Minnesota has us all square in one. Well, there's that mighty Michigan goal song that anybody who's ever been at Yost knows. And keep an eye on Ernestie. Off the draw. Just jumps in and wins a puck battle. Perron. He's dangerous. He's shot. Saved by Hick. Epperson can't get it. Deflected over the net. Michigan's coming. Shot. Score! T.J. Hughes. A candidate. Obie Baker award. What a stick of T.J. Hughes, who gets his 22nd goal of the year and his 69th of his Wolverine career. Pit bull. Dog. And he was a dog on that play. That's a great pickup by Hughes. Presence. Holcamp looking for a lane. Here it goes. Shot. Ivan Kovic holds on. David Carl's power play. Looking a little different than the first one. Going to more of a spread look. Trying to calm the participant. He's back in the play. Puck worker to the net. Michigan will take those where they are. Moldenhauer. Saved by Dunn. Good pass. Ashcroft. Shot. Score! We're tied. Just his third of the year for number three. Well, the guy who's not gonna end up on the score sheet on this goal, but does all the dirty work, is Clark Caswell. And we've seen the skill and the poise of Sam Harris. But watch 25 in front of the net. As Ashcroft shoots this puck, Ivan Kovic is looking around Clark Caswell. It's a perfect. I watched him take that look, but I think he decided the risk wasn't worth it. Musket is the extra skater. Now with Hage back in the lineup as a full-time center ice skating number 22, Jamison covers up. More traffic around the net for Jack Ivan Kovic. He has scored tonight. Fantilli looking for a lane. Shot! Just deflects wide. Schiffke's in front. Schiffke got a stick. The opponent from breaking in alone for an odd man's rush. Ivan Kovic watching this one. Onside at the line. To the net. Shot. One-handed pass in front by. Back to Hughes. He's open. Quick move. What a move by Hughes. Big save by. Chance. Slow the game down a little bit. Hughes has some room. That goes off. Will Buck get it to the net? Hit Fisher. That's one to the net. Blocked. Battle. Shot. Big save. Rebound. Hughes. It's blasted by Fisher. Here's Hughes. He is relentless right now trying to draw a penalty. McMorrow. He can dance to the net. Perron. That was some Michigan magic, but denied again by Johnny Hicks. We asked for more from Jane and Perron, and he makes the point. Bodies and sticks flying. Off the end board. On purpose to. By Burroughs to bump that one backwards to Garrett Brown. That's just a community. This is a four-checking game, and you can see that now. There he is. Set it up. Shot. Save. Rebound. Keeps digging. So that's what Michael Hage can do. Distribute the puck. Perfectly to a guy who has a grade-A chance. Shot. That would have gone wide, but clubbed by Hicks. It's Hughes. He's lifted past Caswell. Caswell around the net. In front. Harris. His check. Perron. He's dangerous. Oh, he just flipped it. By Paul Kemp, and that's it. For 40 minutes. It was 2-1. There we go. The final 20 minutes in Las Vegas. Upended. There's a one-timer, Paul Kemp. Ouch. Back to Buckberger. Shot. Just wide. Sit at the point. Back to Paul Kemp. Wrist shot. Saved by Ivan Kovic. The wall. There's some space for Harris. He can fire. Here's Perron. He's got room. Shot. Over the page. Back the other way. What a pass. Spence. Shot. Set. Collision. Bodies crashing. Will there be a penalty, or are they going to say that the Paios pushed Spence into Hicks, who's down on the ice? We're going to talk about it now. The officials are together. Was this a straight collision? David Carr wants to know. Or will this be what they do? Here's Perron. Shot. Goal. Hicks this ugly, because Perron starts sitting by using 18th of the year for the 21-year-old from Winnipeg, Jayden Perron. And Michigan has their power play goal. The number one power play in the nation, showing you why they are just so dangerous. So many different threats. And Jayden Perron just gets this punt through. Look how he rotates out a foot to the right. He gets his. Looking for the tie. Shot. Just wide. First and shot. Saved by Ivankov. Back to Brown. Aggressive pinch from the defenseman. Well, Pucci, you called him the standard, and this team refuses to go away. And what else is new? Spence to the net. It's pushed just over the side by Hicks. Robbing Spence. Spence has it back. Root for Robertson. To the corner. Horkoff will cycle down. And he's in front! Oh, Schiffke was there! What a play by Hughes to get it to Schiffke, who almost tucked it in. Johnny Hicks with one more big save down the stretch. Jack Ivan. And we're underway in overtime. Next goal wins. Earnest and reader free as he loops around the net. The shot through bodies. And Johnny Hicks denies them once again. McKinney. Fresh troops off the bench. McKinney's shot to Billy. Duke. Shot bouncing wide. Rebounds. Realm shot just wide off the bench. McKinney. He scored tonight. Polk hits! Rips that wrist shot to Schiffke. Behind the net, never got to him. Hand pass. The 14 block shots. Michigan has it. One timer! Into the glove of Hicks. Off the stick of Asher Barnett. Would have gone wide. He is dangerous. Tries to go through traffic. Picked up! And that's one of the first times where we've seen Jaden Perron have the ability to create some space. Shot blocked. Rebound off! Blocked in front. Puck is loose. Crossbar! And a redirect. Clark Caswell. Another tremendous look, and it's the fresh. Hicks! Across. Anderson fakes the shot. Michigan in this overtime. Three for Denver. Crawl to the net. Tipped! All over. Redirection. Here's Perron. He had the go-ahead call to look like maybe a Michigan winner on the power play. Here's Polk. Amps. Blocked. So dangerous. Now Perron has the puck in open space. He is dangerous. Perron! Oh, shot. He was looking to... Another overtime. There'll be 29 seconds of power play time. Take a drink, people. Excuse me. 29 seconds on this fresh ice sheet. The power play is over. Here they go. Double overtime. Robertson. Double up. Back in! Oh, it does not squeak through. Johnny Hicks. This is one. Fenceman. Duke. Shots! Chesky trying to bat that out of midair. Icing. Denver. Moldenhauer up. Valentini throws it. Two shots. Into the glove. It glows. And Hicks covers up. Look at Perron. Stick handle. Fires! What a save. That was next to the ear hole of Hicks. Yeah, I think Denver's perfectly content just waiting for a Michigan mistake, but when you've got... Barely onside. Chesky shot! Hicks doesn't know where it is, and it's under. Long stretch pass. Beautiful play. Here come the Pioneers. Burrows. Quick shot. Deflected into the netting. Barely onside. They let it go. It was very close. Michigan scores. That was a full. Lorenz. Must get shot towards it. It bounced it! And Hicks covers up. The defending out there. Number 22. Open in front. Shot! Just wide. The people behind him off the bench. Here's Michigan. With a chance. Shot! Just wide. Set wide by Jamison. John Anderson wants it! Kent Anderson is the hero for the... Every goal is looked at to be sure. The officials are in the scoring area with headsets on, looking at the monitor just to make sure everything was on point here for an overtime winning goal from Kent Anderson. Kent Anderson came in from his right point position. He asked for the puck. He received it and ripped it home. And who else but Caswell starting this and you get that team in Christian Epperson.
