Building an Elevated Survival Shelter with Rope Ladder to Stay Safe from Ground Predators
In this video, I build a high-elevation survival shelter using only natural materials from the forest, including trees, wild bamboo, vines, and forest leaves.
The shelter is uniquely designed on two separate trees, with the living house and the floor platform built independently on each tree. These two structures are connected by a strong bamboo bridge, creating a safe and functional elevated living system above the ground.
The house walls are hand-woven from bamboo and roofed with forest leaves, providing natural insulation and protection from rain, wind, and wildlife.
All floors and the bamboo bridge are built with safety railings, ensuring stability and security at height.
For fire safety, the cooking area (kitchen) is placed on a separate elevated platform, away from the sleeping house.
Access to the shelter includes a rope ladder made from forest vines and another climbing ladder built directly along the tree trunk.
This elevated survival shelter helps:
• Stay safe from ground predators
• Avoid moisture, insects, and flooding
• Live closer to nature with minimal impact on the forest
This project reflects traditional survival skills, bushcraft techniques, and primitive building methods, learned from a life connected to the mountains and forests.
🌿 Nature is friendly when we respect it.
Live with nature. Protect the forest.
