So welcome back to Monday morning and another Young Blooms tutorial. This one I'm kind of
excited by. It's something slightly different though I have done a similar thing before but
I guess it's a reinvention. So one of the most popular tutorials on my channel is how to wrap
a hand tie and that, I'll make sure there's a link in, and that one was taught to me by
another florist in one of my first jobs. Just a really simple way to wrap a bouquet of flowers
and make it look, sort of finish it off. And wrapping flowers is always an interesting one.
I think I've been doing some more research and just looking on YouTube and seeing what's there.
Some people have asked about wrapping flowers as a flat back bouquet. How would you wrap those?
And there's a lot of kind of, I've seen a lot of videos wrapping smaller bunches of flowers,
so I'll give you an example. So I have these roses here. So these roses are quicksand roses
and they're utterly beautiful. You can kind of see very large headed and have a very delicate
beautiful scent. So to put them by themselves, you know, I think it's perfectly acceptable because
they're a bit sort of showstoppery. And I've laid them flat and done them as a flat back bouquet.
But my thought was how do you kind of elegantly wrap them without using a ton of paper? Because
I think a lot of the tutorials are using tissue paper and then brown paper and then almost a
see-through sort of cellophane paper. And you just kind of think actually you don't need that much.
So I've done some experiments and feel like I might have come up with a solution. I have
two pieces of brown paper and you can see hopefully these are 65 centimetres by 40 centimetres.
So I've just folded them in half and you can see, okay, and then I've laid them. I don't know how
you describe this. So the points at the bottom here, the fold is this way, okay, and then I've
just laid the other one fold sort of opposite to it. Created sort of a heart shape but boxy,
if you know what I mean. And then I'm just going to lay the flowers on top like so. So I've tied
them, they're all, they're bundled together, arranged in the style that I want. So that's
stage one. I'm just going to move this over here and I have another piece of paper here
which is 45 centimetres by 80 centimetres, so slightly larger. And that's my piece that I'm
going to finish the bouquet off with. So back to our starting point. What I'm also going to do is use
one of these eco wraps. So these are brilliant, a water source without having to do a whole water
bubble underneath. So I'm just going to soak that and you'll see what it's like when it's damp.
Okay, so damp wrap, okay, and I'm just going to move the paper out of the way slightly
with my damp fingers. So laying it straight on like that and then just put the point up,
fold it over and then I have a compostable bag, always good, just buy a roll of them
online from any good retailer. Putting it up here, tie it with a piece of string.
So tying it with a piece of string and at least then it's got a water source.
Okay, so that's your stage, what's that stage two? So back to our two pieces of paper.
That's your, and you're essentially just gathering
just below the point of the string here, you're gathering the two pieces of paper. So it's
creating that nice V to show the roses off and then you're using your slightly larger piece of
paper and then all I did, all I did was just to lay the second piece of paper, or third piece
over the top to create that point. And then it just has this nice interesting top to it,
so you can still see all of the flowers, they're still on show, but you've got a nice,
quite simple design which you can then hold it with your hands and you can just
tie a bow. So really simple, all in one place,
chop the ends off and away you go. So you can see the bow just holds all the paper in place
which is great and I'll just turn this, see the front of it, so all at the moment you can see
brown paper but if you turn it round then it kind of shows the flowers off quite nicely,
keeps them all tight in one place. But I think all in all, I think all in all kind of does the job,
there you've got a nice bow, it's like a presentation
bouquet really but just a different way of wrapping. So I hope you find this helpful.
