‘I’ve been over-driving the car’ admits Antonelli after missing out on pole

Hey Kimi, I know it's not been the most straightforward weekend sitting out FP1, the traffic in FP3 earlier today, P3 and Quali, how do you sum it up on your side, what's the overriding feeling? Yeah I think realistically even though I missed FP1 I think this weekend I didn't have enough pace, single lap. I've been overdriving the car and conditions are very tricky, very slippery, very hot and tyres have just been running away a little bit from me, just struggling to strike the maximum out of them for the whole lap. So I think, yeah, not ideal but now we'll focus on tomorrow. Yeah what's your thinking ahead of the race tomorrow, a long hot one ahead? Yeah it's going to be important to get a good start, it's a long run into turn one so I'm not in a bad position to be fair, and then it's going to be important to really make the best out of the tyres, manage them well because it's very hot and probably we'll see a lot of stops as well tomorrow because it's going to be hard to manage them but I think race pace was good in FP2 so looking forward to, yeah, hopefully tomorrow we'll have an even better race pace and we can progress.
