Look at the timer!
We hit 100,000 subscribers!
I discovered this Pomodoro timer recently
and it gives you a tomato
for every study set that you do.
I just happened to download this Pomodoro timer
by chance because it was the first one
that came up, but it's actually really motivational
because you can see your progress.
I've just finished my very first
study set of the day. I've been getting into
a routine where I'll do 100 questions
in the morning just to jog my brain
and improve my concentration as well
and I've been doing time sets of
around an hour and a half, which is around
the same time that I'll be getting for my exam.
I think slightly less because I also
want to give myself time in the exam
to go back and check through my answers.
And because each paper that we're going to be doing is around
100 questions each, the way that I'm revising
now is basically like doing
the exam that I'll be getting over and over and over
again every morning, which is really good practice
and it's also teaching me good exam
technique as well. And because I've been doing this
consistently for a bit over a week now
I've noticed that my scores have been improving
so much. Today I hit 90%,
which is actually unheard of.
Usually for 100 questions I'll
hit around the 70-80%
mark, but today I hit 90%.
I'm really happy
and I'm really proud of myself and I feel like my work
is finally starting to pay off. But I've just packed
my bag and I'm going to be heading out
quickly. I'm going for my hair appointment
to f***ing get my roots fixed. I really
debated leaving my hair like this
until after exams and then doing a
whole big makeover at the end
but I just couldn't. I just
couldn't do it. It doesn't look too bad up here
but it's the line.
Horror. So I'm heading out
to my hairdressers to go
get it done.
I just got my hair done and it looks
so good. She toned it a
really ashy beige colour
and I asked her to refresh some of the layers
in my hair as well because my hair needed a
good cut. The hairdressers
at the end started taking a bunch of
pictures of my hair. They said that it was a
miracle that I even had any hair
left on my head. I am currently
on my way to Senate House
Library to get some work done because
I have a mock OSCE coming
up on the weekend that I really need
to revise for. I actually made some
flashcards last night that I planned
on memorising during my hair
appointment but I left them on the table
but it's okay
because I have my notebook anyway so I ended
up just going through some statistics notes.
Yay. I think most uni students
have already finished their centralised exams
so I'm hoping that I won't be too
busy today and I will get a nice spot
where I can also charge my laptop.
I picked up some food
because I haven't eaten yet.
I just popped out to get some food.
I got a falafel, chicken
and avo for a friend. I've changed
locations because I
gotta charge my laptop because she is
dead and also thankfully this
place has actual aircon.
I was absolutely roasting in Senate
House. I didn't realise that there was gonna be
no aircon in that building
which kind of makes sense because it is quite
an old building. My laptop has finally been
resuscitated so I can show you guys
what I've been working through. I have this
entire OSCE pack
pretty much every station
that I could possibly be assessed on
and this thing is 200
284
pages long which
I honestly don't think is possible
to get through in a whole month.
I feel a bit anxious that I'm not going to be
able to cover every single
topic but then when you think about it
out of 284 possible stations
we're only assessed on
10. I feel like it would be more beneficial
for me to study the most high
yield stations in depth
rather than breadth
and I'm just having to come to terms with that
reality and I
really hope it works out for me.
It's so hot in here too.
So all it is is an
ECG trace and at the top it said
one month old with poor
feeder. Interpret the ECG and
the ECG basically was
QRS complexes. Imagine it goes like
there and it goes there.
Very extreme.
What do you think?
You can get it.
Why?
Okay now you need to tell me why.
But is it right? Yeah.
What's the difference between a normal QRS and a QRS
that's like this?
Much harder. Oh.
Right ventricular hypertrophy.
Correct. So I clocked, okay this is some
type of ventricular hypertrophy.
Considering it's a one month old as well.
It's probably TLM. I need to go through ECGs.
We need to go through 4K content.
I'm gonna die.
Breast and cervical.
Endometrial,
ovarian
and colorectal
is a triad of
Lynch syndrome.
So that's colorectal cancer.
So do you think that people with Lynch syndrome
would prescribe contraceptives?
Yeah, I don't see why not.
That's a pay-per-rating to be British.
Very true. I wonder if someone
knows what that is.
There's a section about benefits and risks
combined hormone and contraceptives for women with Lynch syndrome.
This is in 2024.
She's an Italian obstetrician
and gynaecologist.
I should have taken a bigger bag.
Today is mock exam day!
Woo!
I am running on no sleep,
pure vibes and adrenaline.
I'm actually feeling quite stressed for this mock
because I'm worried that I'm gonna do it,
realise that I don't know anything
and then it will just be bad vibes from there.
But it's okay. It's just one more month.
I just have to grind for one more month
and then freedom.
I wanna show off my outfit today
because I think it's so cute.
I got these super cute...
leggings or trousers
or what they qualify as but
I guess they're some flared leggings.
These are from Taobao and a cute
bra top to match.
The tube line is part suspended
so my mum's taking me to the closest station now.
I'm on my way.
I just bumped into a bunch of my friends on the way
and they said it was okay. Some of them said it was okay
and some of them said it was pretty difficult
so I don't really know what to expect.
I heard that one of the stations
that I'm doing today is basically impossible
so we'll see.
Did you do good?
Of course you did.
There's nothing there that you don't know.
Everything there you're capable of doing.
It's a matter of how quick you can call it.
It's a one minute reading time.
You'll be fine.
It's great, right?
It's not in VR, right?
I was doing that.
It's not a gimbal.
The OGs would know me on the channel.
You're on my very second vlog.
Really? I was on the second one.
I don't want to take any credit for success but it was me.
We're on our way to our vlog.
He said it was hard.
One of the stations.
I'm just sending the marks.
Just finished the stations.
I think general consensus was that it was
pretty okay.
How was it?
It was awful.
You got Chinatown bakery.
What is your conclusion from that?
Conclusion is that
I need to study harder.
The safeguarding one.
The opponent lady.
You had to have aced that.
I forgot to ask about
financial.
Does he control your finances?
Did they mention this to you?
It's a four question screening tool.
Humiliation, afraid and kick.
And then S4, support and spending.
Fair enough.
I didn't know there was a domestic hotline.
I gave a crisis line.
I gave crisis number, I gave leaflet.
I said you can be our social subscriber.
You love that.
I used it at every station.
Even the cerebral palsy one.
Social subscriber.
What were they going to do?
The girl who was examining.
Great, you did so good.
What is this?
Coconut cream bun.
Curry?
My favourite.
I'm on my way to the GP today
for my shift.
Ironically I've ended up
at the place that I used to go to work.
So this is very
nostalgic.
I'm currently on my general practice rotation
which is my final rotation
of the year.
Today I have my own solo
clinic where I have a list of my own patients
that I have to see and manage.
With some guidance by the actual GP.
I'm basically a GP in training
which is so cool to me and I've been
really enjoying this clinic because
it just shows me how far I've really
come and how close I
am to being a real doctor.
I also feel like this was the best rotation to end on.
Since I also have my exams coming
up really really soon, it reminds me that
while it's so important to study
in order to pass your exams, that's
not the whole point of this.
What you're really studying for is to be
a good doctor and to be the best doctor
for your patients so that you can save lives
and better lives and better the community around
you. So being here and having my own patients
to see and seeing not
just a medical case but real
people with real lives and real problems
and being able to talk to them and
find a solution and help them has made
me feel like the past five
years have been so worth it.
But anyway, I'm going to be starting
my clinic soon. My first patient comes
in 10 minutes so I'm just going to
quickly look through the notes and
see what the problem
is.
My name's Jessica, I'm one of the medical
students at the GP today.
Ooh.
Yeah.
Look how good this
looks. Ah!
I feel like in my vlogs I'm always
eating ramen. I don't usually eat ramen
but for some reason whenever I'm vlogging
I always make myself ramen. And this is
a brand new flavour that I haven't tried
before. This is the pork bone soup one.
Actually my sister made this one a
week ago and I smelled it in the kitchen
and I was like, that smells
delicious. I need to have that.
And now I finally get to eat it.
It smells so good guys, I'm so happy.
This is amazing. I also wanted to say
a very quick thank you
from the bottom of my heart
because we recently hit 100,000
subscribers on YouTube
and it's genuinely
my biggest achievement in life
by far. I don't even know, I don't even
have the words to explain but I wanted to
quickly say on here how grateful I am
and thank you for building such
an amazing community around me.
You guys are genuinely the kindest
community ever and I'm just
so grateful that my comment section is
filled with such beautiful, amazing
people and you guys are always so kind
and positive when you're communicating
with me so it makes me really feel
like I have so many friends and people
who genuinely want the best for me
all around the world. And the fact that I can
wake up every single day and know that
you guys will always have my back and be here
supporting me from a screen
even if we've never met in real life.
It's just so crazy and insane
to me and it just makes me live
every single day with a little bit more in it
because I want to be a good role model to you guys
and I want to be someone that you guys
can be proud to support as well.
But anyway, before I start crying, I got a cake.
I got a cake to celebrate
my 100k achievement.
I guess it's not really a cake. I went to my
favourite cafe. This is W.A.
Cafe. It's a nice Japanese patisserie.
I got a peach
daifuku. I usually get the hojicha
one but they didn't have those in stock.
And this is a new flavour so I'm really
excited to try it. But I figured I could put a little
candle in and we can all make a wish
and I don't know. I just thought it would be
cute and fun so we're gonna do it. I also
want to show off my flowers. These are
some flowers that Vishal sent to my doorstep
to celebrate my 100k and they're
so pretty.
You guys deserve this as much as
I do so let's make a wish together.
Now I get
to eat it. Wait, that was...
Mmm, it's not too sweet.
I just took my makeup off so that
I can be a little bit more comfortable
for my study set tonight. I'm about to
do a 150 minute study
session. I really wanted to do
a really long study session so that I could
get a really big tomato
to add to my collection but I realised
that on the first of every month
your tomatoes reset so I have no
more tomatoes now. And I'm
really sad. I feel like I became way too attached
to growing these tomatoes but it's
okay. I guess we can start this month's
study tomato garden
with a 150 minute
big tomato. I wish you guys
all the best of luck in everything that you strive
to achieve and I'm so so
so confident that you guys
will be able to do amazing things.
I love you and thank you for watching!
Muah!
Bye!
