Kaiji Teahouse, located in Shanghai's historic Xiangshan Apartment, bridges the gap between youth culture and traditional Chinese tea culture. This teahouse, situated in a 1933 historical building, skillfully merges the old with the new. By opening up the original 12-meter-wide facade and preserving the building's material, texture, and even its imperfections, Kaiji Teahouse pays homage to the evolving history of the site. The design draws inspiration from traditional Chinese teahouses, emphasizing openness and community.
