Petroglyphs And Painting In Pinto Valley

On this trip, I started at the Redstone Picnic Area in Lake Mead National Recreation Area & hiked out through stunning and surreal sandstone formations into the Pinto Valley Wilderness Area.

This is one of my favorite locations for mellow hiking in a really beautiful place. It holds many secrets and surprises, including wild formations, slot canyons, arches and many ancient petroglyphs left by the indigenous Native Americans who lived and hunted in this area for a long period of time.

I visited several petroglyph panels, a favorite arch, made a plein air watercolor painting and made some more surprising discoveries.
