Taylor Swift talks new Toy Story 5 song

It was the world premiere of Toy Story 5 in Los Angeles last night and you could probably hear the screams all the way from here as Berks County native Taylor Swift surprised the crowd on the red carpet and on stage with a performance of the song she wrote for the film. It is a Tay story for sure and the superstar is just as giddy as we are. Sometimes when you look back on your childhood, those memories, that's special in itself. Taylor Swift with the ultimate Disney Pixar collaboration. The global superstar on stage at the world premiere with the song she wrote for Toy Story 5, I Knew It, I Knew You. It means so much to me to actually be a part of this film in some small way just because it's such a just such an incredible world of imagination. Turns out the creative minds behind the scenes of this storied franchise are Swifties. The day we hung out with Taylor. We met Taylor Swift, weird. Yeah we are huge fans obviously so the fact that this actually happened and came together the way that it did. It was like the ultimate aligning of the stars. This collaboration was also kept hidden from the stars of the film including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen who've been the iconic voices of Woody and Buzz Lightyear for more than 30 years now. This is as big a secret as the Taylor Swift song at the end which we just found out about like two hours ago. This song is for Jessie who takes the lead in this film. I want to talk to you device. Not touching. Jessica. And we're in our Jessie era. We're in our Jessie era. Yes. Yes. Finally. The song is celebrating that person who's always there when you need the most. I felt like she just the voice of Jessie was like she just got it. She got it. She understood. Like she just understood all of it. Swift on stage with a shout out to Joan Cusack the voice of Jessie. It's an honor to write for her. And an epic duet with Toy Story's legendary singer-songwriter Randy Newman. It's me and you boys. It's raised so many kids just like me. Like I watched Toy Story when I was five and I've watched every single one of the films so many times. To be able to be welcomed into something that has welcomed me unknowingly its entire existence just as a fan feels like very poignant for me and for my family. So Toy Story 5 hits theaters next Friday. Disney of course is the parent company of CBC. I have to tell you I have seen this film. I will watch it five million times. Bring your tissues. You know parents are going to feel this deeply because it's where toy meets tech and what happens to our imaginations but I think that the kids are going to feel this as deeply as the parents. And I love how personal this is for Taylor too. Very cool. Just the kismet of it all. It's perfect. From the music to the story I cannot wait.
