Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Sovereign emerges from smoke in white and silver armor with a visor slit that carries zero warmth and a VOID insignia engraved into the shoulder plate like a brand. Chris Hemsworth's Blackstorm descends from a dark sky with a storm hammer crackling black lightning and a cape tattered at the edges and eyes that have been cold long enough to forget they were ever anything else. Chris Evans' Captain Hydra crushes the classic shield under his boot with the particular calm of a man who decided a long time ago which side of history he was standing on. Scarlett Johansson's Red Widow walks away from an explosion in deep crimson leather without looking back because looking back implies uncertainty she does not carry. Tom Holland's Dark Spider drops from a rooftop in absolute silence, matte black and angular, moving like a predator who never learned the part about protecting people. A resistance general watches footage of all five operating together and says the only thing left to say. They have all the power and none of the mercy. The VOID logo burns onto black. Dark Avengers appears in cold white cracked letters and the world that thought it was safe understands it was wrong about that too.
Nine to eleven hours on this one. Stripping every heroic quality from five iconic characters while keeping each one distinctly recognizable took serious creative work. Multiple tools, multiple full passes. Every shadow earned its place.
