AI GeneratedAdam Sandoval takes viewers on a motorcycle journey along the Talimena Scenic Skyway, also known as the Winding Staircase, located between Oklahoma and Arkansas. Accompanied by world-record motorcyclist Wes, Adam showcases the route's beauty and provides a detailed rating of the ride based on several key performance and experience metrics.
Welcome to today. Today I'm taking y'all on an epic ride. It's the Talimena Scenic Skyway,
also known, also known as the Winding Staircase. And it's right here, I don't know, about 45
minutes north of my campground, the Carriver, right there in Moyers, Oklahoma. It comes right
out of a town north of me called Tallahena, Oklahoma. So with me today on the ride,
I am bringing a Coast Guard veteran and friend of mine out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Wes,
tell everybody hello. Hello. Have you been having fun down here, Wes? Oh man, it's a blast.
Wes, in case you didn't know, is a world record motorcyclist. That's right, we set the record.
That's right, man. We set the Guinness Book World Record for the largest parade of Harley-Davidson.
Wes actually rode in that with us and, you know, it's awesome. And if you rode in that parade,
you also are a world record motorcyclist any way you cut it. If you haven't yet,
look on my Facebook page. It's Scootin' America slash Adam Sandoval and you can get your patch
right there that says you are indeed a world record motorcyclist just like Wes and myself.
But for today, Tallahena Skyway. We're going to take you on a little ride. Of course,
he's got his wife with him but she's over there talking a little bit. I'm sure you'll see her
in the videos. But until then, let's take a ride. You ready for this ride? Hell yeah, let's do it.
So Wes, today is riding my 2017 Road Glide Ultra. What do you think there, Wes? Man,
it is a smooth ride. It's just comfortable. It is comfortable, man. It's got quite a few upgrades.
It has got the DND 2-in-1 exhaust. It has got the high flow air filter, the Screaming Eagle heads.
It's got the entire 114 kit, the Crouse risers with the Fly Moto bars, and of course, that
new Legend Arc suspension, which is really, I think, what's making it smooth for you there.
That suspension is the bomb. Legends is always doing it right. Of course, there's a lot of
lighting upgrades on it as well from my friends over there at Ciro 3D. Me, I am on my 2019 Indian
Dark Horse with the 116 kit. It is a comfortable ride right out of the box. I absolutely love it.
I don't even know what else to tell you but I enjoy riding that one as well. I think this is
one of the best rides in all of America. I'm going to say in the top 20. Certainly in the top 5
between the Smokies and the Rockies. Enough talking. Let's show y'all what you came to see.
And the cool thing is, is you can go, you can see the road winding through there.
You could cut off right back there through the winding staircase that way.
And it's every bit as beautiful as the way we're going right now.
So, yes sir. A little stop here about six miles outside of Mina.
This is a good spot to get a little lunch. Beautiful little restaurant and hotel overlooking the valley.
All right, y'all. We are going to score this road as one of the top,
potentially one of the top 20 roads in all of America to ride. It is one of the best roads,
certainly between the Rockies and the Smokies. It's centrally located almost in the middle
of the United States and really a great ride for people from all directions to attend.
Starting number one, we are going to go with road surface. The road surface is not ideal.
I've certainly ridden better road surfaces. There's not huge potholes and things like this in it.
But I will say that sections of it are newer and sections of it are older and a little bit rough.
So for road surfaces, I cannot score it higher than a six. We're going to give it a six for the
road surface. Curves. Curves, this is one I really like. And again, remember these are all my opinions.
You may like different things out of a road. My opinion, the curves here are an eight. There's
beautiful curves. There's switchback curves. There's slow radius curves. All in all, I got
to say these curves are pretty nice and I'm going to give them an eight. They're beautiful curves
from start to finish. Views. Here's another one. The views are absolutely out of this world for
the middle of the United States. Now with that being said, when you're comparing it to things
like the Rockies and the Smokies and you know some of these other areas that are out here,
the views don't compare as much. If I had to go an immediate area, I'd probably give them a ten
or a nine. But given the competition that is in this beautiful country we call the United States,
I have to give the views a seven. Attractions is another one. There is not a lot to do in
as far as food, restaurants. Your options are pretty limited around there. You do have my
campground the Carriver and some other camping and state parks. But for mass attractions, there's
not a ton of them. So unfortunately on attractions, I have to give this road a six. Traffic is really
where this road excels and one of really the most important things when it comes to me. You can have
a beautiful road with beautiful views, but them cars and that traffic can kill any great ride.
We've all been there before. This road, every time I've ridden it, the results have been consistent.
Absolutely no traffic. If I get behind one or two cars on the entire road, it's amazing and there's
areas to pass every so often. So it's not like you're stuck behind them for a long time. This
is where I will say out of every road that I've ridden on and rated so far, this one is doing the
best. It gets a ten when it comes to traffic. And lastly, the distance. I mean look at it.
That is a nice distance road for me. Almost the ideal distance. Much longer than that,
it becomes a whole road trip. And if you have to have a road trip to get there,
it makes it a little difficult. This is a perfect distance road to make a road trip.
Visit, wake up one morning, take a nice ride, enjoy it, stop and enjoy the scenery and go back
to wherever you're lodging. So for the distance, I give this a nine. That my friends is a grand
total score of 46 out of a possible 60. Pretty good. Certainly not our highest scoring to date,
but definitely a good scoring road right there between Oklahoma and Arkansas. Hope y'all enjoyed
this ride. Thank you very much for coming along with us. And until the next video, remember,
we're the world record holders for the largest parade of Harley-Davidson's
because we are not quitters. We are the Americans.
