Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video showcases a meticulously restored 1967 Mustang Fastback featuring a high-performance 427FE stroker engine producing 510 horsepower. The vehicle is presented as a \"rocket ship\" with a professional restoration that covers everything from the mirror-like paintwork and polished chrome to a pristine undercarriage and a classic tan interior.
Hey guys, welcome back to Vanguard Motor Sales.
I'm Greg, and this is a 67 Mustang Fastback.
Now she was born in S code, but it's been transplanted with a 427FE, and that has been
stroked out to make 510 horsepower.
She is beautiful, man.
The restoration on this thing is off the hook.
All the stainless and aluminum and chrome, all nice, bright, and shiny, looking beautiful.
I mean, the car is just phenomenal.
Now that 427 stroker is hooked up to a five-speed Tremec transmission, and she is a rocket ship.
As you look down the side of it, man, the paintwork is absolutely beautiful.
No dings, no dents, looking beautiful.
I love the rocker stripe.
I love how the fitment of the door is.
We'll take a nice close look at the interior here in a minute.
That was a quick peek.
I love the wheel and tire combo.
It's kind of got the bullet look to it, even though it's a 67 with the tan interior.
You can see that the door jamb's beautiful.
The door panel's beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Love the steering wheel.
It reminds me of my Cougar back in the day.
Of course, we got seat belts, fold-down seat.
All the interior in here looking absolutely gorgeous.
The restoration on it is just off the hook.
I tell you, whoever did it, did one beautiful job.
Looks just like it came off the showroom floor back in the day.
Maybe not exactly like it came off the showroom floor, but it could have been.
She is looking absolutely gorgeous.
And of course, you see that Hurst shifter in there with the center console.
Really, really cool.
Now, whenever you're looking at a car, make sure you open the trunk, look inside the trunk,
and we're going to do that in a minute.
You can see all the chrome, the stainless, all the aluminum trim, everything highly polished.
Anything that needs to be polished is polished.
And then look at the floorboards in here.
Absolutely gorgeous.
We got beautiful paint.
Then, of course, everybody knows that a Mustang, the tank is the trunk floor.
So the tank looks like it was replaced when it was restorated.
She is one beautiful machine for sure.
Gorgeous.
Everything painted up looking beautiful.
You can see the gutters around the opening of the trunk, all painted up looking gorgeous.
It's got new rubber on it.
The latches were replaced when it was restored.
As you look down the passenger side, you can get a real good look at it.
See how nice that door fits, how nice and straight the paintwork is.
Absolutely beautiful car sitting right here, guys.
Take this car anywhere and be proud, and wait until you see the bottom of it, man.
The bottom of it is just as clean as the top, guys.
She is a beauty.
Now, I know you want to hear that 510 horsepower fire up, but before we do that, let's go out
in the shop.
Now, we're right here in the Motor City, so we've got great facilities for working on
old cars.
You know, this is where they were all born.
Now, we've got 25 lifts in here, 15 full-time mechanics checking stuff out.
And then about two miles from here is our main showroom where there's over 150 cars
there.
So we own all of our inventory here at Vanguard.
We don't do any consignment whatsoever.
And a lot of people ask us, where do we find all these awesome cars?
Well, we're hopping on airplanes, getting in cars, driving thousands of miles, getting
on our hands and knees with flashlights, checking out the bottoms of cars.
We're checking them out top, bottom, inside, and out.
We're really picky about every car that we buy.
The paint, the chrome, the underside, the suspension, the motor, the interior.
Now, once we get them back here, the mechanics fully inspect every one of the cars before
we park your dream in your driveway.
67 Mustang time, baby.
Let's go.
She will go.
Hammer it down, baby.
She's got plenty of power.
That accelerator's working good.
Tell you what, I love this car.
She's got a five-speed enter.
Get her up in high gear, go anywhere.
I mean, I'm driving with two fingers there.
Look at that.
Just as straight as an arrow going down the road.
Look at the reflections on the hood.
I mean, all those beautiful trees, the blue sky, you can see the clouds.
I mean, she is one beautiful machine.
She's sounding good, we're looking good, and we're feeling good in here.
Tell you what, look at the dash.
Everything looking beautiful.
All the gauges are stock.
They're looking awesome.
Speedo's working.
The tach's working.
The clock's going tick-tock.
Got the gas gauge over here.
Wipers are wiping.
And I'll tell you a little secret, there's a little pedal down here on the floor that
is your squirter, and if you touch that pedal, the wipers will wipe too, isn't that cool?
So it's kind of like intermittent wipers from 1967.
And then our AM FM radio is actually working.
The little garage door, my sister's Cougar always had one of those.
My sister and I both had Cougars when we were kids.
I was always jealous of her car because she had the little garage door, I didn't.
I'll tell you what, this thing is going through the gears nice and smooth, downshifting out
of fifth all the way through all five gears.
Now we're going to go back to the shop where we're going to put this baby up on the lift
So you can see how nice the bottom side is, and it is pretty.
We've actually already had it on the lift, so I got to see it already.
Man, gears feel great, and we can park this dream in your driveway.
It does not matter where you live, you just give Tom a call, he'll tell you exactly how
easy that process is.
Now if you haven't subscribed to our YouTube channel, make sure you do by hitting the subscribe
button, the bell button, then we'll send you a notification when we get something new in,
which is about one or two cars every day.
So keep an eye on the website guys, we're going back to the shop right now.
We're underneath the Mustang now, and she looks just as pretty under here.
We got a brand new gas tank in here, it looks like we got brand new exhaust, the spring
packs look like they're new, the brake lines on the nine inch Ford rear end housing here
are new, and 389 gear in there, and it is posi.
We've got drum brakes here, you can see the new shocks.
Now on the brakes, the guys will pull those all apart, make sure they're in good working
order, that they've been installed correctly.
We got Flowmaster mufflers, we got nice paint on the drive shaft here also.
The whole floorboard system has been painted with the same color paint.
We got frame ties here, which were installed very nicely.
We got a new parking brake cable here, we've got the Tremec 5-speed transmission, it's
got a stock appearing clutch linkage here.
We've got power rack and pinion steering, a high torque starter, all the gear up here
that should be bare metal is painted to look like bare metal.
We got disc brakes, we got upper and lower control arms look like they're new, all looking
gorgeous.
Now, this is a 427FE, and you can tell by these bolts right here.
These bolts are how you tell it's a 427 versus a 428, or 352, or 390, because those bolts
actually go into the main caps there in the crank.
Everything under here looking absolutely gorgeous, nicely done, very, very nice car.
You're going to want to put some mirrors underneath this car and show it off when you go to a
car show.
Love the wheel and tire combo, again, kind of looks like the Bullitt car, 215, 65, 15s
on the tires.
Now, these are the GT2, and these tires are for pretty much show.
If you're going to drive this car every day, I'd put some new tires on it because I think
the date on them is 09, so they've been on there for a while.
As you look down the side of the car, she is pretty as can be.
The rocker molding looks good, the bottom edge here, everything looking absolutely gorgeous.
See the paint job here on the bottom of the floorboard here looks beautiful, the bottom
of the rocker, the pinch weld, everything looking gorgeous.
And then out back, we got 235, 60, 15 back here, and again, the date on the tires is
the same.
If you're going to make this a daily driver, like I said, I'd put different tires on it.
Well, let's lower it down and look under the hood.
Man, she looks good under here.
Look at this.
Now, we got 390 badging on the air cleaner there, like I said earlier.
This is a 427 that's been stroked out to make 510 horsepower.
Now, the heads are aluminum, I stuck a magnet to them, so they are definitely aluminum.
We got power brakes, power steering, I mean, everything done up looking absolutely gorgeous
under here.
Be proud to pop the hood of this thing anywhere you go.
She's got a fan clutch on her, it's got what looks like a brand new radiator.
We got an auto light cover on the battery to make it look old school.
There is a Holley four barrel sitting underneath that beautiful air cleaner.
I mean, she's got a stock appearing distributor in her.
Let me check out and see.
It's got two wires coming out of it, so it has been upgraded with a Petronix unit inside.
Even the alternator's got auto light stamped on it.
Bottom side of the hood's nicely painted.
I mean, this thing is gorgeous, guys.
So give us a call at 248-974-9513 and let Vanguard Motor Steals park this little dream
in your drive.
