AI GeneratedThis video reviews the Tissot Gentleman Automatic in a new 38mm size. Featuring the Powermatic 80 movement and a classic silver dial, the watch is praised for its versatile proportions, high-quality finishing, and suitability for various wrist sizes, offering a more compact alternative to the 40mm version while maintaining a timeless, sophisticated aesthetic.
So it looks like Tassau put out a smaller
Gentleman Automatic with the Powermatic 80 movement. This is the new 38 millimeter
available in a few different colors. We have the silver one here to show off.
On loan from Trifecta Watches in Lafayette, Indiana. Here's the hang tag, current price point.
I'll put a link to this watch, direct contact information. All of that will be down below
in the description. Let's cover the details of this watch real quick. So I measure the case at
38.15, if we're going to be exact. So 38, whatever. The lug to lug 45.7. Excellent finishing on this.
Measured thickness with a slightly domed sapphire crystal at 11.9 millimeter. The lug opening is 18
and then the bracelet with a polished center tapers down to 16. Then you have a butterfly clasp
and you can close it either way first, it doesn't matter. So you have a half link on each side so
you should be able to dial in the sizing. You also have quick release spring bars on this bracelet
so you could swap out for a leather or whatever material. 6.5 millimeter push-pull crown signed,
keeping the 100 meter water depth rating on this thing. Check out that finishing. Full polished
bezel, brushed side with a nice polished chamfer going along there and that ties all in really
nice with that polished center links. The dial on this one, beautiful silver kind of a lighter look
to a classic looking watch. I think with the lighter color on a 38, it's going to play like
a little bit larger watch. So if the larger gentleman like the 40 is just a little too big,
the 38 might feel too small in the darker colors. But if you get this lighter silver dial or there's
actually an ice blue, that one's really nice as well. Check that one out. I'll see if I can get
one in for a video. A framed date window at the three o'clock position. You have polished
applied markers and then you have small little loom plots going around the perimeter
and then you'll have a little bit of loom on the hour and minute hand. So we do have loom of course
and we will show that. But this is a gentleman's watch as mentioned. It's just so gentleman. It's
in the title so you don't really need that loom but it's it's a nice touch and it's not insane.
It's not like a dive watch or field watch or anything like that so it'll be just enough.
Let's go ahead and put it on my seven and a quarter inch wrist just so you're aware that's
how much extra space you have. So if you have a similar size wrist. See what I mean? Like the 38
I think really works for this watch in the same way that say like you know the classic
Datejust from Rolex in a 36 millimeter works on pretty much all wrist size. It's just that
classic look. I think this thing also exhibits that with its proportions. So yeah you could
definitely go to I think the 38 mil for this model is actually a better choice in most cases
unless you have or just prefer a larger watch. The 40 will totally work but I think the 38 is a good
move for sure. We'll give it a quick blast with the UV light so you can check out the loom.
Of course again big thanks to Trifecta Watches, Lafayette, Indiana. Go check it out if you want
to go check out the Brick and Mortar. It's right across from the police station. It's across the
river from Purdue University. There's a lot of really great restaurants and it's just a great
weirdly enough if you have not explored Indiana there are some gems there to go visit. It's pretty
wild to think right if you're traveled. I really enjoy going down to visit Indiana. A bunch of
different places down there so check it out. If not you can buy it right online with the link I
gave or you can reach out to Jake or any of his sales team there and tell them I sent you. You
can see there with the loom you know if I go a little bit darker by shielding the light in the
room you can see it's it's there but to the naked eye it's it's not super strong and you don't really
have an identifier for the 12 o'clock position other than its orientation on your wrist. I think
you would be able to figure it out but you know do you really need it? No. I don't even need it on
the dive watches anymore. When it's dark I'm sleeping. I'll see you guys on the next vid.
