Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis tutorial teaches an advanced dance move combining two types of slides to create a visually impressive effect for social settings. The instructor breaks down the technique into a \"slide out\" and a \"slide in,\" emphasizing smooth execution, weight distribution, and patience during practice to achieve a professional look.
Sometimes the basic moves are not enough to be able to shine on the dance floor.
So today I'm going to teach you a move that will make your friends go
how the hell is he doing it or how the hell is she doing it.
Those will be the movements that will definitely bring attention to you.
And remember if you don't want to learn on your own,
if you want to learn the basics and the more advanced movements,
wait till the end of this video.
I will give you more information on how you can join my program.
The program already helped thousands of adults, men and women,
to build permanent dance skills and the confidence to be able to dance in social settings.

So if you want to become better at dancing social settings, this is the place to be.
The movement that we're going to do today is a combination of two different slides.
I want you to shift weight onto one leg.
Make sure that the heel is lifted because we will be pushing it down.
The weight is completely on the ball of the foot and as you're pushing the heel down,
you're going to be moving the other leg perfectly straight.
I want you to slide it out, okay?
So we have two actions happening at once.
If the foot doesn't slide because maybe the floor is weird or your shoes are not slippery,
you can either practice in socks without any shoes
or you don't have to necessarily touch the floor with the foot.
It can stay off of the floor a little bit, but it has to be flat.
So this is our first portion of this movement.
It already starts pretty advanced.
Do it on both sides because you have to be able to connect it.
So now if we have the weight on the other foot, this is my left foot,
my right will be sliding out.
The moment I start dropping and pushing the heel down.
Warning, I don't want you to drop the heel sharply because then the slide will be sharp
and this is not what the sliding moves are about.
We have to make sure they are nice and smooth.
So I encourage you to practice first on both sides.
Make sure you have that part down before we move on to part number two,
which is a slide in.
We're going to start this time with the feet apart.
One foot is on the ball of the foot again.
Heel is lifted.
We will be pressing it down, but this time the other foot, we bring it in.
Same deal, right?
So we have straight leg.
The foot is flat on the floor.
The weight is shifted onto the leg with the heel up
and then we slowly bring the other foot in like this.
Okay, do it the other way as well.
One side, by the way, might feel easier than the other side.
That's perfectly normal.
That just means you have to practice a little bit more on that problematic side
to even them out and do not get discouraged.
This move literally took me weeks to perfect when I used to learn it years and years ago.
So be patient with it.
We always want to make sure it's correct and not, you know,
kind of sort of doing the motion because this will always look a little bit sloppy.
So you want to take your time.
Weight is on one foot.
Heel is lifted.
Weight is on the ball of the foot and then you slowly drag the other foot in.
Notice that I finish with both legs straight, starting with one bend.
When I bring it in, both legs are straight.
Now, how you connect both parts together is we'll start with the first one.
Remember, we were starting with feet close.
You're going to slide one foot out.
One lift the heel that went out and drag the other foot in.
So it looks like this.
Slide out.
Slide in.
Slowly slide out.
You can stop for now at the just make sure the body is facing the way you're going to travel.
And you drag the foot in.
It's OK if you start with the toes out right here on the side.
But then when you slide, you bring them in.
Slide out.
Slide in.
I told you this would be an advanced move and it is.
So take your time.
Only if you can do it perfectly in one direction, you can switch sides.
You can start with the slide out.
Have the feet apart.
Adjust the foot.
Put the weight on the ball of the foot.
Lift the heel and then drag the other foot in.
So this is going the other way.
Let me show you how this will look put together.
Both directions.
Let's do it a few times.
Let's say you can only do this move in one direction because you don't have to do it
like I just showed you both ways.
A good way to kind of use this move as a show off move.
You can only do it once as a transitional movement.
So let's say you're dancing.
You're doing whatever steps you want.
Maybe something basic.
You have an entire playlist of my club dance moves to choose from.
But you're doing something basic and then you want to do a quick transition to something else.
Do it once and keep on moving.
Let's try it with the music.
I'll show you two versions.
You can do it slow.
You can do it a little bit more.
More advanced version will be to do it on every beat.
Let me show you the slow version first.
We have slide out, slide in.
And double it up.
