A local organization helped deliver milk to the Gray House today, helping
those facing hardships. 22 News reporter Aretta Daya is live in studio
with how it was made possible. Christina, in honor of World Milk Day,
Rachel's Table of Western Massachusetts delivered 40 cases of
shelf stable milk to local nonprofit The Gray House. It's only 40 cases out
of nearly 300 in total that will be delivered to 18 partner agencies of
Rachel's Table. Founder of Rachel's Table, Judy and her brother, says the
original fund was created in honor of the 50th anniversary of their parents
so that all Children would always have access to milk. Milk is a basic
necessity, and as long as Parmalat milk is on the shelf, we know that our
women and Children will always have what they need. It's going directly to
our market program, where every single week we serve anywhere between 500 and
600 families. So we always say that's anywhere between 1800 and 2200
individuals. The executive director says the relationship with Rachel's
Table goes way back and that their partnership means the world. Fun fact,
the 200 cases delivered so far equal a total of £2,646 of milk working for
you. Aretta Odaya, 22 News.
