It is roasted chicken night and in this video i gotta tell you three reasons why i think roasted chicken vietnam is top tier And this spot specifically is the best i've ever had freaking amazing district 7 ho chi minh city This spot is called de nhut ganung one reason why vietnamese chicken or roasted chicken or grilled chicken aka is fantastic Is the way they grill it. This is so cool. This unit is so amazing how this chicken just spins on the fire in charcoal So this kind of spot they grill them like 90% of the way and then when you order they season it with whatever sauce you want They have like their house sauce Their house sauce is like a soy sauce glaze or you can get a coat with chili So now this guy just painted it with the soy sauce It's gonna this one's like a sweet soy sauce that he glazes it with so then it gets put back on the fire And then he's also going to put chili on it, too. Yeah. Hang on. Yep. That's so cool. I love it. Very cool This thing is so cool, man Look at how cool this grill is. This is like one of the coolest grills i've ever seen I love it. I don't know if this place has multiple locations, but this is the best grilled chicken I've ever had in ho chi minh city for sure You can find this dish everywhere in the city in many many places But this one does stand above the rest in terms of tenderness and juiciness. Oh, so he's gonna do a chili one Oh fantastic. Just look how cool this is. Tell me that's not Salivating right now. It's so amazing Wow, I want one of these grills so bad. They're so amazing. Oh, is he gonna chili it up now? He's chilling it Looks so good and then it goes back on the fire after it's been the dry chili so it gets double chili. Wow One of the things that makes these chicken so special is all get that which is like a garden chicken a wild chicken So they're a little bit tougher. They do have good flavor But this spot is good because even though they're tougher They're still tender more so than most and they're still moist So this spot just cooks them right and they also each burger is around six dollars, but usually get a combo So we're getting a combo and something else is really cool is all the sides So we'll show you all the sides when we get home But there's some cool stuff and most of these spots are never eat in They're always kind of take away pull up and just take away just like this guy just like all of us I've never seen one of these spots really with any seating So we're gonna bring this home for dinner As I said, these kind of grilled chicken spots are everywhere But this particular one we're lucky is right next to our new house So that's amazing for us and I think the chicken's about six bucks But a combo is about eight depending on the size could be nine if you get a big combo Oh and here so they have a second grill and this one's grilling up the sticky rice So we did get one of these this is a grilled tube of sticky rice. So that just warms up That's part of our combo and they have two different sizes of chickens They kind of have like a regular and a little bit of a jumbo and the jumbo is just a little bit bigger It's only a dollar more for the big one. So we get it or twenty thousand more rather cool setup total bill for forty So about six seventeen dollars and we got two chickens So we'll we'll show you the whole spread when we get home This location's been open for about six seven months now and when it first opened it was hacked packed packed packed They had a deal going and it's still really busy. It's hot though. I'll tell you what. This is a hard job Come on Okay. All right, let's get home. I'm ready to eat. I'm so hungry We got a new follower new follower wife spreading the good word. I knew it We've been to this spot once before and it really was great and last time I came here by myself And I did walk to this lady up here and buy hope alone the fertilized duck egg or the balut And it's so funny. My wife did the exact same thing. This is our chicken spot There's a vendor right there that sells hope it alone and stir fried corn So if you're looking for that, you can kind of get make your own little combo and get yourself a corn and hope it alone You didn't get it for jady She loves it my poor daughter Whoa Hooray That was so funny This is one of the cool things about ho chi minh city is like you can see we were just on a major road We take one turn and now we're like super neighborhood very relaxed vibe ho chi minh city's got everything around every corner You never know what you're going to see We do love our new neighborhood and that chicken spot is probably a three minute drive for us maybe less. All right, let's eat all right, so Let's do an unboxing I know this chicken's your favorite the best so the chicken comes in a box We usually doesn't come cut we ask them to cut it So there we got that cut and then the typical thing the chicken automatic that will come with And a little it comes with a little bit of pickle and it automatically comes with gloves Vietnamese mint aka rah rum and it comes with cucumber and a very good dipping sauce very strong dipping sauce It's nice and then the combo meal you get it with some fried. It's a steamed buns that have been deep fried So bun bao chin, and then you can get it with sticky rice Usually they have a choice of corn and mung bean stick and rice. This one's mung bean because they didn't have corn I think the corn is amazing, but they didn't have corn today And then the big combo will also come with that grilled sticky rice in the tube that we saw so this is sticky rice That's been stuffed inside of a bamboo tube steamed and now it's grilled So this is like this is the full combo of the larger size the smaller size combo You get the chicken you get the vegetable and you can pick one of these you get the fried bread Or you get a sticky rice or you get the grilled sticky rice one or the other But we got the whole deal your back got twisted too. Everybody got hurt at jiu-jitsu today Well good thing we got a lot of chicken for you so you can Hit your protein goals for the day, bro You want to paper plate it or you want to plate it up tree's gonna say paper plates. Let's see it It's not spicy so that's the chili one that's the bintong or the normal one and the chili one looks really spicy It's not spicy like almost nothing That's a chicken wing you can help yourself if you want let's well, let's get plates first Whoo The rice with the bamboo, yes, i'll get you some rice with the bamboo. There you go I usually think this sticky rice in the bamboo. It's really cool It's a lot of work and it's usually pricey and I think they're okay Oh, this one has coconut in it. I don't like coconut. Usually are dry. It's okay. I prefer the normal sticky rice It's good. Let me try it. I'm excited That sauce is very powerful. It's good sauce nice The chicken is definitely tougher than like a western chicken or than your typical costco or boston market chicken It's definitely tougher. But it's this is the most tender garden chicken i've had. They don't overcook it like most places do nice All right fat ninja jd. Do you still like the grilled sticky rice in the tube? Yeah, you do. Yeah, I never liked it I think that grilled rice is so cool, but not really worth getting especially the price point It's a grill style that style is not like real grill for the bamboo one I like it. The steam one's better than the grill one. Yeah, I agree. The grill one's always dry I could have done it and I already told the lady I don't don't grill too much too much And this sticky rice I do like the corn better, but still the green bean one is good. I like it. Yeah, it's still good I really like the corn down there though. I like corn better. They didn't have it never had corn Believe me I was sad, but this is still fire and I think the price point's really good too I mean you spent 400 getting two chickens And that's good we've had this chicken before at different spots, but I never got excited this is the first one I really like it All of these chicken spots will always give you the cucumber and the fried bread and usually the grilled rice But not all of them give you sticky rice and that's my favorite side I think the fried bread is good. But I mean it's heavy. I don't always want to eat it Yeah But the sticky rice with the green bean and we say green bean I mean mung bean and sticky rice with the mung bean and sticky rice with corn is my favorite side for this Have you ever seen a chicken place like this with seating where you sit down and eat there? I don't think so very famous duck place in the cheap one real duck place like this And it is Amazing. Do you want to see your race? I want to take your race. Do you want a fried bread? No, it's not spicy for some people They're gonna say it's a little bit hot, but I don't think it's gonna blow anybody out. It's it's pretty mild I hope you can feel okay with They would be scared to try but when they try big. Oh, okay. Yeah to me. I think I like both equally I like getting both but if it was just soy sauce, that'd be fine, too I think I just saved my duck egg tomorrow. Oh, you're gonna eat your health alone tomorrow I know it's tempting to get it though when you see it there. This is like the get that's good It's still really tender tender for get that for garden chicken, but moist flavorful if I um, butcher it myself here I'll break it down here. Then. I like the sticky rice a lot I prefer the corn over the mung bean, but i'll take the mung bean if they don't have the corn I'm still happy with that I want the fried bread steam one the grilled sticky rice I don't care about and the cucumber and the dipping sauce on the side is great The dipping sauce is underrated too. Like it's not it doesn't look like much and it's hard to kind of describe it But it's it's very powerful not in funky ways, but it's like salt pepper sugar calamansi and intense So that part's good. They do deliver too Um, so, you know pretty much regardless of where you are in the city You can order this and even if you're staying at a hotel for two or three nights You're just looking for a late dinner or maybe you crashed at 5 p.m because you're exhausted and you woke up at 9 p.m You can order this You can order grab. Yeah, i'm sure there's other ones in the city that are as good But I haven't had it yet.
