Brad Pitt Reveals His Lowest Point as Family Drama With Angelina Jolie and Kids Continues

Moving on to an actor I'm actually growing to love, not so much because of his films, but because of how candid and honest and open he's become. That is Brad Pitt. So we've been covering Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt a lot on this show because I think it speaks to family dynamics. It's interesting to see how Angelina, in my opinion, is turning the kids against Brad. I know many of you in the comments feel that way. How come all the kids are dropping the last name Pitt? I think four of the kids have dropped the last name Pitt shows some gratitude. If I were Brad Pitt, I would be pissed. Imagine you adopt these kids from over in the village in whatever country they're from over in Africa. You bring them here. You put them in a mansion in Hollywood. They fly around on private jets, and then they still drop your name. You know what I'm saying? You ungrateful. Listen, you're going to drop Brad Pitt's last name. You can go back to the hut. You can go back to that. You better be grateful for where the hell you are. Anyway, Brad Pitt, he's gone viral the last few days because he was on Dax Shepard's podcast. He actually opened up about hitting rock bottom, finding AA, turning to sobriety. Even though this clip might be from a few months ago, I think it's pertinent and going viral right now because it relates to so many people. Let's take a look. I was pretty much on my back on my knees. I was trying anything and everyone. Anyone threw at me. It was a particular difficult time. I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the **** up in some areas. It just meant a lot to me. Yeah, the first is, oh my God, it's coming around. It's coming around. It's getting closer. It's going to be yours, but everyone was so open. It's contagious, right? It is. It gives you permission in a way to go, okay, I'm going to step out on this edge and see what happens. Then I just really grew to love it. I'm so glad Brad Pitt is being open and honest because it seems like Angelina Jolie, during the divorce proceedings and even during the marriage, tried to weaponize his issues with alcohol against him. There was a fight that they had on a plane. He had an outburst. As I've told you guys, I don't think he's father of the year. I don't think he's winning any gold medals for being the best father on earth, but he's open and honest about the fact, hey, I was drinking. I was struggling. It's shown that he has turned his life around. Apparently, he's been sober for years now. He's really turned it around. A lot of these actors in Hollywood, they're not drinking anymore. A lot of young people, they're not drinking anymore. As you guys know, I don't drink either. I'd rather have a Shirley Temple, give me some maraschino cherries, and call it a day. When I look at Brad Pitt, I think his honesty and being open is going to give permission to so many other men who look up to him. I feel like a lot of men are thinking, well, I don't want to talk about sobriety, addiction, my struggles. It might be a sign of weakness. It might make it look like I'm not in control or in command of my life. I think Brad Pitt's saying, listen, I was on my back. He said, I was pretty much on my back, desperate, trying anything. I think that is going to help so many young men out there and so many folks who look up to him and say, okay, he's got money, power, fame, access, the looks. He is a hit movie star. You don't get to be more of a movie star than Brad Pitt. If he's telling you he had to turn his life over and hit rock bottom and find sobriety and turn a new page, then I think other people will be allowed to do that too. I don't think there's a person out there watching who either hasn't struggled with addiction, who doesn't know someone who has addiction, who isn't dealing with addiction in your family, hasn't taken care of a family member, a friend with addiction. I think Brad Pitt's honesty is honestly taking the power back from Angelina Jolie in this narrative. I believe she's ginning up in the press that he's a terrible dad, horrible person, was never there. He's saying, yeah, I wasn't in a great place. I'm trying to make my life right, but I do believe she's going to continue holding the kids from him and controlling them. She seems like a very controlling woman. There are sources who say that that is the case. I do think it's interesting. We have so many kids now who are dropping the dad's last name and taking Jolie. We'll be covering this a little bit more.
