I wore the Even Realities G2 AI smart glasses every day for a month, and they're easily one of the coolest products I've ever tested. Unlike the Ray-Ban Meta glasses (which are basically just cameras strapped to your face), these are actual AI display glasses — titanium frames, prescription lenses, and a tiny green display in your peripheral vision that surfaces info exactly when you need it. In this review, I walk through the four features I use most (real-time meeting transcription, live language translation, a built-in teleprompter, and turn-by-turn navigation), show you the R1 companion ring, and break down who these glasses are actually for. If you've been curious whether AI smart glasses are finally good enough to wear in real life, this is the honest, real-world take.

So guys, in this video, I wanna show you
one of the single coolest products I have ever tried,
and that's basically AI glasses.
Now, I don't know about you,
I've seen the Ray-Ban Metaglasses, I've tried them,
but they're basically just cameras on your face.
That's not what I want, that's not to me
kind of the promise of what AR and AI glasses are.
But then I saw this website and it was super futuristic,
looks very cool, and then the company reached out
and I was able to give them an actual try.
And so in this video, I'm gonna do a full review,
I'm gonna show you everything you need to know
about the EVEN Realities E2 glasses.
And I wanna show you more of the real side
of like what's useful, what it's like in your life.
Ideally, these kinds of glasses just disappear
into your day and are just actually used.
So that's what I kind of wanna show you
as opposed to just a feature checklist.
That's gonna be the video and let's get into it.
Now for context, if I didn't say it prior,
basically these are AI smart display glasses.
So they look like a normal pair of eyeglasses.
They weigh basically nothing,
they are framed with titanium
and they take prescription lenses up to plus or minus 12.
And inside the lenses,
there is this little green display panel
that kind of floats in your peripheral vision.
So you don't see it when you're just looking at the world,
you see it when you kind of glance up.
And that's the entire kind of design philosophy,
I think from the team and with this product,
where it's kind of in your peripheral vision,
it's not blocking your face, it's not on your phone.
And then in terms of the glasses themselves,
there are no speakers, no camera,
it's not trying to be a VR headset
or a replacement for a phone.
What it does is it connects you to information
that you care about at the right time
without you having to ask for it.
And other than that, it just gets out of your way.
And that's not gonna be a fit for some people,
that is going to be a fit for other people.
So it really just depends on what you're looking for
and who you are.
Now you control them with two things.
Number one is the temple tip on the side of the glasses.
And the number two is the even R1 ring.
And so you can swipe up and swipe down on the ring
to control the interface,
or you can again touch the side of the glasses like this.
And the dashboard is where the magic lives.
With that in mind, I wanna jump into
kind of the actual workflows
and the ways you're going to use this.
So the first core feature that I want to show you
is called conversate.
And what it does,
if you're having a long form conversation or a meeting,
is it summarizes in real time what's being said.
So if you have a two hour meeting,
you can quickly understand at all times
what has gone on and what's important to recall.
So here in the app,
we can see all the different,
if we go right here,
things that you can do with these glasses.
And there is a lot there.
Let's head back to the homepage
and press on conversate and then start.
So you can see now it's recording me in real time.
What I'm being said is being put down.
And then I can visually see right now
a recording, a transcription of what's being said,
and then it's summarizing it as well.
So my glasses look completely normal,
but I get more context on this meeting
and on this conversation.
Now, if we go from transcriptions under AI cues,
then you can see that it's listening for cues as well
if it wants to respond.
That in mind, that is conversate.
Let's go ahead and click on end and confirm.
And then we can also see that conversation
and transcription is saved in the app.
And then a few seconds later,
if we head back into here,
we can see the summary of the conversation
and the key points.
And that's also what I'm seeing now visually
with the glasses.
So if that's things like interviews,
long form meetings, et cetera,
that's a very helpful tool in terms of productivity
where you're not taking notes,
you're not trying to remember and pay attention
and actively listen at the same time.
Now, the second core feature I wanna show you,
this might be my favorite, it's called translate.
Let's go ahead and press on that.
And it's in the name here.
What this is going to do is translate in real time
what the person in front of you is saying.
So let's say I want to translate,
let's scroll down.
And so that's playing.
And right now in the app,
I'm seeing that live Russian to English translation.
So you can just speak with people in foreign languages
and understand them.
If you're on a tour in a foreign country,
you can perfectly understand the tour
and that translation will be saved in the app as well.
And here's another cool application of it.
Let's say I wanna watch some TV.
Let's go to Netflix.
And a show I like is called Money Heist,
but this show is in Spanish.
But we can translate that in real time with this feature.
So let's say we're watching it like so,
I wanna show you a POV of what it actually looks like for me
with the translation feature turned on.
So it's actually really good real time translation.
You can see in that demo
that it's the same translation as the subtitles,
but much visually easier to see.
So a fun application there
for the translate feature as well.
And now I'm actually gonna sit down,
I think, and watch an episode.
But let's get back to the video.
It's a really, really cool and kind of trippy experience
when you're just seeing it.
And there is a pretty obvious
business use case there as well.
If you're in a foreign country,
if you're at a conference somewhere
and someone's speaking and you wanna understand it,
this is a super low friction way to be able to do that.
Okay, I said the last one was my favorite.
I think that was a lie to be honest.
I think this next one I'm gonna show you is my favorite.
This is a feature called Teleprompt.
I can resonate a lot with this as a creator
where I have to remember scripts a lot.
I have to speak based on some outline
or some script that's there.
If you've ever given a talk, right, same deal.
You wanna be looking at the crowd,
you wanna be looking at people in front of you,
but you also have notes
and you may not remember word for word
what you wanted to say.
Well, this is the solution for that.
Let's click on Teleprompt right here,
and then on New,
and then I'll call this Video Script,
and then I'll write,
this is my sample video script, and then done.
So this is going to display on the glasses in front of me,
whatever script or text I want.
And then what it'll do as well is it'll scroll.
It'll move through the notes.
So let's click Start.
I'm gonna click Allow.
And then now in front of me, I can see those notes.
So I can look like I'm talking directly to you
in the camera,
but I can actually be reading from my exact notes.
That applies to content creators.
It also, again, really applies
if you're giving a public presentation or speech.
The alternative being you have those big screens in the back
with text that everyone can see.
This is just native.
It is frictionless,
and you will give better presentations.
This fourth feature is also super epic.
And what this is is called Navigate.
And the idea is Google Maps or any kind of Maps app,
but in your glasses
where it understands the world around you
and will just give you the directions as you're walking.
So you can visually see,
walk to the left, walk to the right,
walk forward.
And if we look under Travel here,
there's a lot you can do there.
Just think of it as Maps,
but integrated into your glasses.
We have Wander where you just walk directly
to points of interest.
But I just hit Navigate.
Let's say I want to go to Egos.
I'm going to press Start.
And what I'm seeing on the screen here,
I see the time, I see the distance,
and then I see which direction I need to go.
So again, Google Maps, but in your glasses.
Kind of awesome.
That's a super cool experience.
I can see that it's telling me to turn right.
I can see visually on the map where I need to go
and I can hear the voice from the app telling me as well.
So it's this really kind of unique audio visual experience.
It's not overwhelming,
but you know exactly where you need to go.
And let's see if I make it.
Also, there's a Waymo.
Also, it's a solid 90 degrees in Texas right now.
Okay, it's telling me to keep going straight.
And then it looks like I'll take a right and two blocks.
And it looks like I made it to my destination.
So that right there is Navigate.
And you really have to experience a lot of this stuff
to really understand what I'm talking about here.
So those are four of the core workflows
or features that I really like about it.
Again, if we just scroll through here,
we can see literally dozens of different
kind of features and apps.
So there's a lot for you to explore.
And generally, if you just use it for a week,
you'll find the little niche things
that are the way in which it best integrates
into your life personally.
For example, like flashcards, right?
So if you're studying, you can study.
In your glasses, wine on glass, right?
There's really a lot there to explore.
And I think the ecosystem will really just improve over time.
And what's cool is you can also ask the AI
or the glasses questions.
Hey, Evan, what is the population of Austin, Texas?
So it's recording it.
Okay, it looks like Austin's population
officially crossed 1 million,
and it's now 1,002,632 residents.
So that's kind of epic again, because it's not flashy.
I can just say, hey, Evan,
and it will listen to me 24 seven
and answer whatever it is that I want to know
about my life, about my apps
or general purpose questions like that.
I also wanna do a quick shout out
that in mind to the ring.
The ring is how you can just scroll through
what you're seeing in the app.
It's technically optional, but it's useful in practice.
You just swipe up and down to control the dashboard
that you're seeing in the glasses.
So you can take calls with it.
You can just miss notifications.
You can interact with the dashboard.
And then what's really cool
is you also get basic health data from it.
So I can go in the app.
I can see my heart rate, my sleep.
Right now it's 99 beats per minute.
That's not very good.
Apparently I'm stressed.
And it can also track your temperature.
So you get all that data like a mini aura ring
from your R1 ring.
And then finally as a last comment here,
these just actually look like glasses.
Again, that's not gonna be a fit for everyone,
but if you want something
that isn't trying to be super out there
or recording people all the time,
then these just feel like actual glasses.
Again, you have prescription lenses up to plus and minus 12,
two frame shapes, three colors.
Battery is about two days of real use.
And then the case adds about seven full charges.
So to wrap up the review,
again, these are not gonna be for everyone.
If you want just to take photos,
go for the metal kind of Ray-Ban glasses.
If you want a VR headset, go for the VR headset.
If you're someone who's in conversations a lot,
you give a lot of presentations,
you take notes, you manage a calendar,
and you just want a quiet piece of tech,
then that is I think overall who this is for.
And I think this is going to get a lot better.
I think this is just the start of AI and AR glasses
coming into the physical world.
And I'm looking forward to a lot more of these
as a productivity and work tool for myself.
That in mind, if you want to buy the EVEN Realities G2,
