____________________
Do you think, deep down, Iranian leaders right now, do they actually want a deal with the U.S.,
or are they just stringing the U.S. along? They are trying to string the U.S. along.
You pointed out, or President Trump pointed out in the clip you played,
they think that he's up against the deadline of the midterms. Other nations think that they can,
you know, they all think that they're political prognosticators. They read the New York Times,
and they, you know, read the Charlie Cook report, and all these things. And they believe that
he will act as a political animal. And he's making it very clear that he has no intention
of acting as a political animal. He is acting in the best interests of the United States, of
safety for the United States of America, and for the whole world. And he's going to do the
right thing, which is make sure that Iran can never be a nuclear power. No matter what else
happens, that must happen. And that's, I think that they still believe that they can pull one
over on him. Okay, but in reality, if the U.S. resumes attacks, military operations on Iran,
for example, bombing its infrastructure, whatever,
can the regime still survive that resumption of military action?
Yes, yes, they can, because they have been preparing for this for over 40 years. They've
been preparing for a doomsday scenario. And every single IRGC commanders, 30, 31
individual commanders has the authority to continue the war and has the resources,
sufficient resources to continue a major war, at least against regional powers and against American
bases in the region. So, yes, they can survive it. They are designed to be survivable. And we
would have to take out all 30 IRGC commanders and their deputies and another layer or two,
nearly simultaneously, to truly decapitate the regime. Do we have the capability to do that? Yes,
I think we have. And not the simultaneous part, but we could take out all of them.
And I suspect that part of what's been going on over the last couple of months of ceasefire
has been intelligence collection. So we know the lifestyle and habits and patterns
of all of those commanders. It was, I think it would be much more effective
to continue to take out individual checkpoints from the Basij, the paramilitary,
you know, secret police organization that really controls the population.
It was very effective. People would text the drop a pin and say, here's a checkpoint,
and boom, an Israeli jet would destroy the people there. That's the sort of thing that I think will
change it more than bombing bridges and highways and tunnels. One bit of infrastructure I hope they
take out is the aluminum smelting plant in the north, where they make the aluminum powder that's
for their solid fuel sedge rockets. I have not seen any report that that's been taken out.
That's a critical component, and they make it there in Iran. And if they can take that out,
then they can, you know, deny Iran an entire class of very dangerous missiles.
But even if the regime survives, would you say it would be in a much weaker state
and that would be a ripe opportunity for the Iranian people to perhaps
do something about the regime, maybe topple the government? Isn't Iranian leaders, regime leaders,
afraid of that? Wouldn't that be yet another incentive to maybe come to the negotiating table
and accept a deal? I think what's more likely, I think it's less likely that the population
will rise up en masse against all of these 30 command posts separately. I think what's more
likely, and also I assume is going on, is that we are talking to some of those IRGC commanders
and there will arise a, not a civil war, but a competition, a war of competition
among the commanders for primacy. And there will emerge one of those commanders
who will become the new supreme leader of Iran and remake Iran. It won't be pretty,
and it won't be Jeffersonian democracy. It will be somebody who will make a deal with us,
give up the uranium, release their claims on the Strait of Hormuz and meet the other
conditions that the United States has demanded. Somebody among that group is going to meet those
conditions. And right now they're all sort of looking sideways at each other saying,
are you working with the Americans or are you still opposing them? It's going to be IRGC
commander turning against IRGC commander. That's what will finally bring down the regime.
