By balancing a natural aesthetic with strategic definition, the guide ensures the bride looks phenomenal both in person and in photography, utilizing a layering technique of cream and powder products for maximum durability.
As you guys know, for a few years I worked as a bridal makeup artist.
So every year I love to create a bridal makeup tutorial ahead of the season,
just because it is my specialty when it comes to makeup looks and tutorials.
I have so many great tips for making your makeup look long-lasting,
look great in photography, and also look great in real life.
So today I am sharing this timeless, luxurious, long-lasting bridal look
that still feels fresh and modern.
It's all about that balance.
This video is sponsored.
I am going to be using one of the best brands for bridal beauty, Dior.
I really believe there's something very meaningful
about treating yourself to a few luxury beauty products specifically for your wedding day.
For example, I still remember the exact lip combo that I use for my wedding day.
So every time I reach for that color, it just reminds me and takes me back to that day.
So I always encourage my brides to do so as well.
Make it an experience.
Go pick out the products that you want to have forever,
shades that would become a sentimental memory.
So every time you use them, you can look back on your own wedding day.
And I hope in today's video I can help you select those sentimental products for yourself.
And then Dior just makes that experience even more special
because of their beautiful packaging.
They also have complimentary shipping for loyalty members,
complimentary samples and minis with every order,
engraving services on fragrance and makeup items,
or the iconic Miss Dior bow personalization.
All of these are available exclusively on Dior.com.
I always, always recommend if you're going to purchase Dior products
to get it directly from their website because you'll get that full luxury experience.
So everything that I'm using in today's video will be linked down below.
Then make sure to check the description box to use my code for a complimentary gift with purchase.
I love how this year's look turned out.
I cannot wait to share with you everything that I did because I'm looking at myself.
I just look so fresh like myself.
And it's just enhancing all of the right areas of your face.
You're going to love this one.
Before starting your bridal makeup, make sure all of your skincare is freshly applied,
but you've given it 10-15 minutes to settle in
just to make sure it's not going to fight with any products that you put on top.
But your skin is freshly hydrated for the day.
Now for foundation, my favorite for events would be the Forever Skin Wear.
They also have the Forever Skin Glow which would be gorgeous for a glowing bridal look,
but I can add glow with other products and I think a matte foundation
will just withstand the long wear and tear day of a wedding.
I've been talking a lot about this foundation recently
just because I've officially decided this is my all-time favorite matte foundation.
For years, Dior foundations have always been my favorite foundation brand.
This just has the most soft, smooth finish that is going to look phenomenal in real life
for your event as well as in photographs.
The Dior foundations photograph really, really well.
Your skin will look so, so smooth.
Honestly, I think even if you are having a makeup artist do your makeup,
it is worthwhile to try this foundation out.
And if you love the way it makes your skin look, to ask if your makeup artist can use it.
If you love it at least as much as I do, if I was getting my makeup done for my wedding,
would totally bring this in and just have them use this.
And while yes, I want today's look to have a glowy finish to it,
I do want to start off with a matte base because I want it long-wearing for events
and it also is going to look more flattering in photography.
But this finish is gorgeous.
Next, I'm going to clean up the brows which frame the face.
I think it's so important to start off with your brows done and work around that.
So take either some residual foundation or your concealer.
And with a synthetic fiber brush, I'm just going to lightly clean underneath.
Unless you've just got your brows freshly waxed,
or if you just like the look of a little bit of a highlight underneath here,
put a lighter concealer underneath here.
This step is optional, but I do think it makes it look a little bit more structured and clean
if that's the look you're going for.
If you're going for something a little more fluffy and natural, you can skip this step.
It really depends on the state of your brows.
But I'm going to do it just because I'm not getting married.
So I do want to sharpen it up a little bit.
Then take a little bit on a bigger brush.
And you see, a lot of people have blue on the inside of the eyes
and you absolutely do not want to forget this.
If it's very, very blue, go in with a color corrector.
But before I put the foundation down,
I'm just going to make sure that this is covered right here.
And then with whatever is left, I'm just going to even out my eyelid.
I would suggest using an eyeshadow primer with this as well for the longest wear
because putting a concealer all over the lid is different than using an eye primer,
which for an event, I would recommend.
I do do a sheer layer of foundation or concealer over the lid
just to keep the canvas really bare and clean.
And at this point, I'm going to go and do the eyes and eyeliner
because we haven't put concealer down.
So if any powder falls down, you can clean it up because a huge mistake,
even if a little dot of dark shadow falls underneath
and you already have your concealer done,
even if you try and wipe it away, sometimes it will leave a shadow
and you don't want that shadow there.
So you want it as clean and bright as possible on the under eyes,
which is why we're getting working on the lid.
For eyeshadow, I have the Backstage palette in Nude Essentials.
This has the perfect bridal tones here.
So I'm going for something more bare today.
So I'm starting off with this shade and I'm just going to sweep this in the crease.
Even if you don't want anything really on your eye,
I would suggest putting a brown or a taupe in the crease
to give your eyes some shape in photographs so that it doesn't get lost.
And I'm trying to keep a balance here between photography makeup and in-person makeup.
It really depends on what you want.
If you are more focused on the photos and looking phenomenal in photos
and don't mind having a little bit more makeup on in person,
especially if you're a regular glam wearer,
I would say pack on the punch, pack on the pigment.
Because photography, you lose a lot of the color that you add.
But if you're a bride who's more focused on looking like yourself
and not having too much makeup on but you still want to look good in photos,
that's more so the vibe that I'm going for today
because typically I do do photography glam
because I'm not afraid of a little bit of glam.
But I want to keep it a little bit more fresh today.
This smaller brush, I'm going into this dark shade right here
and I'm keeping this in the outer corner.
These shadows blend so, so well and I'm just lightly swirling it.
I didn't add too much but I just wanted to add that extra bit of depth.
If you ask me, this is so essential for a bridal look.
It adds so much definition to the eye which is gorgeous.
So it's not a smoky eye by any means but this is that extra bump in photography
that's so important so that your eyes don't get lost.
I'm gonna take this pearl shade right here
and I'm just gonna place this in the inner corner
and then really blend that out.
You don't want it to be too stark in photos
but you want a little bit of glow right here.
Even using a matte shade is really going to open up the eyes
but I just want to make sure it's really blended and subtle.
This is a new product that I recently discovered from Dior.
This is their new Dior Show Flash Stick
and I thought the shade beige tool was perfect for bridal.
Benefits of eyeshadow stick.
It's not going to give you any fallout on the bottom
and a lot of times a shadow stick actually lasts longer
if it's good quality and has a nice dry down
and then of course the Dior does.
This has subtle little specks of glitter
but again since it's not a powder
those glitters aren't going to fall on your face
so you're not going to get random specks of glitter on you throughout the day
but you're still going to have that little that little extra jazz on the eyelid.
So this keeps it very fresh and natural with a little bit of bridal pizzazz.
I just love it love it love it.
It's like similar to my skin tone with it being beige
but a little bit more elevated and glowy.
Next up eyeliner for bridal.
I really really love brown liner
whether that be with a pencil or with eyeshadow.
I do love black as well depending on the look
but I think today we will go softer
so I'm going to use the Dior Show Stylo Waterproof Creamy Eyeliner in matte brown
and start off by tight lining
meaning getting underneath the lashes that little area of skin.
This is going to make the biggest difference
and it's such a small little detail it makes the lashes look more full
it will make the look more complete.
Let me bring my mirror closer for this
and I'm just going to lightly line and trace this along the upper lash line
keeping it nice and thin and then make sure you're also
getting the liner between the lashes as well
and I'm going to flip it it comes with a little smudger
and I'm just gonna soften it.
While I'm not creating a wing
I do want to extend it out just a tiny bit to elongate the eye
but brown provides the perfect amount of definition in photographs
without being so harsh in person.
And again tracing this along the lash line
not drawing on too much of a line
I'm just kind of sketching out the top of my lash line
and resting the liner on there because I don't want it too thick
and then I'm using this smudger side to soften it
make it look more natural while leaving the definition.
Next step very very important
take a makeup wipe and if there's any bit of fallout
whether it be from the eyeliner from the eye shadow
even if you don't see anything do this step
you will be surprised at what will fall
and the under eyes are so important you just want them nice and bright
and this is the first step for that
then make sure you give your under eyes time to dry
and then depending on the look that you're going for
you can even shape out your eyeliner in particular
if you did a wing
if you want more of a cleaned up window effect with your eye shadow
you can take some time and do that now.
We aren't yet done with the eyes but we can start working on the under eyes
so I'm using the Forever Skin Correct
this is so creamy
I'll even use this as foundation sometimes for a more full coverage look
and the shade that I have is half a shade brighter than my foundation
so that I have more of an open-eyed awake look
if you have some dark spots on your under eyes
you can color correct a little bit prior if you would like
for me I find that just a layer of concealer gets the job done
and I just love how creamy this one is
and I apply a generous amount of concealer
I know there also is the technique where you don't apply so much
but I actually like to spread it across my face
since this is such a creamy beautiful concealer
I don't focus all of the product on the under eye
I spread it in the surrounding areas
especially the nose
if you're somebody who notices foundation doesn't stick on your nose
definitely try putting concealer over your nose
it should settle better
so I'm just spreading that concealer thin on other areas of my face
bringing it down my nose
bringing it over my nose
over the cheek because that's where I have a lot of redness
and this is another chance to keep the eyeshadow clean looking
if your concealer is significantly brighter
you can also bring it into the t-zone here
which will make everything look more even and cohesive
just a little bit
now we're going to move on to our creams
I do think layering is very important for longevity
so if you use cream products
you should also set them with powder products
so I love the skin sticks that Dior has
I'm going to start off with the skin contour stick in light
this one is more for contouring
I love this though because it's not too gray
but I'm going to put this in areas that I want a shadow
that I want to really look much more structured
which for me and most people is going to be right here
that area under the cheekbone
to make the cheekbone more pronounced
this is going to make it look so gorgeous in photographs
and I love the shade of this because you can use it as a bronzer
it's not warm but it's not too gray
so it really provides great structure and definition to the face
I use this pretty heavily under the cheekbone
and then look straight ahead in the mirror
if you want to define your jawline
like right here I want it a little bit more chiseled
right here
and then usually underneath the ear right here
it looks really good
do make sure that this step you fully blend this
because you do not want to look like you have a contour beard
so make sure you're taking the time to keep this really blended
that's why I'm using a cream
because it's so much easier to make this look blended into the skin
I'm also gonna take some of the contour stick
and I'm gonna do my nose as well
nothing crazy or too structured
but just so that in photographs my nose doesn't get lost
this is really really important
then to make it look more natural after you place it down and blend it
take your concealer brush or foundation brush
and lightly stamp over
so that will leave the definition of the nose contour
but make it much more natural
and then I'm also gonna do this around my lips
especially right here
this will give a much more pouty look
and then some people do it over
I don't love that so much on myself
but you know
you're gonna mostly blend that away
but I will give it a little bit of shadow
to almost work as my lip liner today
I do have a lip liner that I'm actually using
but this will be a good background shade
but here for me is the most important
and then same thing
you can take your concealer brush
dampen that down
now I'm using the forever skin bronze
which is the same amazing creamy formula
but in a more bronzy shade
if you want that sun-kissed bridal look
this you're gonna want to use
so really important you blend this into your hairline
you don't want that awkward line between your hair and bronzer
and then I do
I will admit I am so guilty of bringing the bronzer down
too far on my forehead
because I have a small forehead
so I'm trying not to do that
I'm trying to softly blend this forward
you could also put the contour up here as well
but I'm going for more of a natural look
so I really just wanted to keep the actual contour
underneath my cheekbones
and then I'm lightly going over with some bronzer as well
but just a little bit down here
I want the contour to do most of the work under my cheekbones
but here's very very important
and again to make it blend in easier
since the blend is so so important
use your foundation brush
press in those hard edges
so always keep your foundation and concealer brush next to you
because that's gonna make it look so so much more natural
and I'm not applying too much
I'm gonna leave it there
but I wanted to bring some of that bronze around my forehead
and then for blush
highly recommend doing a cream and powder combo for blush
because blush is one of those things that fade the most
and I think a blushing bride is the most beautiful look
so I'm using my favorite shade
in the Dior backstage rosy glow stick
rosewood
and you'll see rosewood is the theme today
I'm gonna do a rosewood cheek and lip
this is gonna add the most gorgeous glow to the cheek
popping this right on the apple
I know this is not the trendy placement of blush
but I'm telling you for a bride
you you're gonna want this
this is that classic timeless blush application
now don't do it while you're smiling
but just look straight ahead
see where that apple is
and apply the blush
really blend it out
nice and soft
I'm not trying to make my bride look like a clown right now
but I want that flush
and then with whatever is left on my brush
and there should not be too much
just gonna put a little bit again in the center of the nose
so that the nose does not lose itself in the face
I'm gonna apply just a little bit more
if I wasn't going for longevity I would pack this on
but since I do have a powder to go over top
I just want this stick
the tack that I'm gonna get from this cream shade
and the glow
but yeah you could really really pack this on
and it would be gorgeous
I'm even putting some on my chin
but we want that healthy glowing bridal look
now for powder I'm gonna lightly lightly set
I'm sorry you just need powder
so that your makeup can last all day
so I'm gonna use the Forever Nude Radiant Filter
so this is a powder that's not completely flat
so this is gonna help keep that healthy glowing look we have going on
I'm just gonna use a really big brush
really fluffy
and I'm gonna lightly set this pretty much over my entire face
and this will keep the glow showing through
while also setting for longevity
it might mattify a little bit upon initial application
but I promise you your glow will come through
as the day goes on
and it's gonna be a long long day
a lot of times you get your makeup done quite early in the day
and I do actually refrain from heavily setting the under eyes
I think it's better to keep the under eyes more flexible
and you can just take your ring finger
or you can take your concealer brush throughout the day
and touch up as needed
and take a little bit of concealer as well if you need
it depends on the bride
it depends on the under eyes
especially early on in the day
I refrain from setting too much
because it makes it easier to touch up before photos
and the actual ceremony
so I'm keeping the setting really light on the under eyes
and then we're gonna reinforce some of the color for longevity
these are powders so they might take the glow away
but don't worry you'll see what I'm gonna do
so I'm just gonna take a little bit of the Forever Nude Bronze in Light Matte
not too dark
you don't want this too dark
you've already laid down the color
you just want this to seal it in
so again I'm taking that really fluffy brush
and I'm lightly setting my cream bronzer
and it should go over nice and smooth
because of the nice formula
a little bit underneath
nothing too crazy
now I'm using highlight
Dior has always created some of my favorite highlighters
I'm personally anti-cream highlight
I love a powder highlight
I just think it looks better and applies better
I'm gonna go in with Nude Halo
and I'm just gonna lightly pop this at the top of my cheekbone
and then a little bit lower
because I want the glow to come through when I set with powder blush
and so this highlight will peek through underneath the blush
so just a little bit
so that you can be a glowing bride
don't skip highlighter if you're going for the glowy bride look
and you can see I'm popping that all the way over my cheek
and then I'm taking the Backstage Rosy Glow Blush in the shade Rosewood
which I told you is the theme for today
take a brush that's not too dense
tap off the excess
and lightly sweep that over the cheeks
so you should still have the glow coming through from the cream and the highlight
exact same placement
a little over the nose
just a little bit
and this is going to ensure that you're going to have long wearing blush
because it was able to grab onto that cream blush
and with that highlight trick you still have that very juicy dewy cheek
which is so so important
and then we're gonna move back to the eyes because we are not done
taking a pencil brush
I'm gonna take a little bit more of that taupey shade that I started off with
and I'm gonna run this along the lower lash line
personally I find this step really important
especially if you have fine lines on the under eyes
because this will help conceal some of those lines
so just create a soft shadow
if you want take your eyeliner
at this point pop it in the waterline
and then blend it out with the dark shade
if you're going for more of a smoky eye
if you're going for more of a brightened awake eye
don't do that
I'm just gonna take a little bit more of the pearl shade
because I like some of that right here in the tear duct
and for some eyes depending on the bride and their eye shape
I'll even bring it lower
and then I cannot stress this enough
you better blend this baby
this needs to be well blended
but it'll create that subtle eye opening angelic effect
but yeah if you want to go a little bit more dramatic
absolutely fill in the waterline
that's not gonna be forever about it though
I'm gonna quickly do my lashes
now we are ready for the lips
and I have to say one category
that whether you are doing your own makeup
or you're having a makeup artist do your makeup
splurge in your lip
buy yourself
treat yourself to a luxury lip
I promise you
you're gonna remember that lipstick for the rest of your life
so I decided to go with the rosewood color from Dior
because it is iconic
it is universally flattering
you'll always be able to buy it
and you'll always have that memory of wearing Dior rosewood
so I am using the Rouge Dior contour lip liner
in the shade classic rosewood
and you absolutely want to purchase your lip color
so that you have it to touch up with throughout the day
and then you have it for forever as well
when it comes to bridal slash event makeup
fill in your whole lips with the lip liner
this ensures longevity
you see how much color this adds to the face
it's the most gorgeous color for a fresh bridal look
and then the lipstick
which is also in the shade classic rosewood
just gonna lightly pat this on
these layers are going to ensure a long wearing lip
now this is optional
some brides want a glossy glowy lip
some don't
Dior does have their lip maximizer in the rosewood shade
I'm just gonna do a little bit for some hydration
but I don't want to glop it on
because that does increase the risk of transfer
but just a little bit for some hydration
like so
and it also adds to that fresh look
and here is our fresh natural bridal makeup look
that still is a balance between
having the makeup still visible in photographs
and looking your best in photographs
while also looking your best in real life
as well as longevity
we have to layer a little bit more in the beginning of the day
so as the colors fade on your face
you continue to look flushed and fresh throughout the day
and I love it
I hope you guys love it as well
bridal makeup is my absolute favorite style of makeup ever
even though this is packed with tips for long wearing event makeup
like this is great for every day
you can just shortcut some of the steps
so final steps though
like the face is done
put on your dress
put on your outfit
then go back in with some additional foundation
a little bit on your brush
and so this would depend on your neckline
but you want to even everything out
so bring it down your neck
so that's the same color as your face
if you have a lower neckline
put foundation on your chest as well
make sure you set with a hardcore powder
maybe add a little bit of glowy products where you desire
but the makeup is not just from the chin up
it should be this whole area as well
I just recommend doing this after you put your dress on
so that it's as fresh as possible before the ceremony
a lot of brides love a body luminizer
you can do one of those as well
I'm just gonna lightly set this
and there we have it
that is this year's bridal tutorial
I love how fresh this year's looked
and how it turned out
as always I will have all of the products that I used linked down below
I highly highly recommend you order these from the Dior website
so that you can get the gifts
complimentary samples
complimentary engraving
and of course the gorgeous packaging
so I hope you guys enjoyed this video
and found it helpful
and I will see you guys in the next one
bye guys have a good one
