ABC's Martha Raddatz presented with lifetime achievement award at News and Documentary Emmy Awards

ABC News led the 47th annual News Emmys with eight awards. ABC News World News Tonight with David Muir won the top prize last night for Outstanding Live News Program for the fourth straight year. Martha Raddatz, ABC's Chief Global Affairs Correspondent, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. She spoke about the honor on the red carpet before the awards. It is an honor. It is an immense honor is what I would say. And just one of those surprises and I'm proud of it. I'm proud of everyone here though. I mean I think that's my message that, you know, journalism endures and we'll keep at it as long as we can. Deborah O'Connell, the Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, presented Martha with the award. Martha tells the stories of and for everyday Americans that make a difference. And that's because she cares deeply and with every fiber of her being about the sacrifice and the importance of journalism. She has more courage, depth and character than absolutely anyone I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Our colleagues at 2020 and ABC News Live were also honored with awards last night.
