Why Xi Jinping Must CRUSH Xinjiang Before Invading Taiwan

There is a very strategic reason why China is repressing Xinjiang, and it's all connected to Taiwan. Welcome to China Uncensored, I'm Chris Chappell. What if I told you that China's brutal repression of the Uyghurs in Xinjiang, and its preparations to invade Taiwan, were connected? I know it seems strange, especially since they're on the opposite sides of China. But don't bust out your tinfoil hats just yet, unless you're going for a fashion statement, in which case, slay. Because this is not mere speculation. This is exactly what the CCP thinks. Back in 1996, the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party held a meeting where they warned about international counter-revolutionary forces led by the US openly supporting separatist activities inside and outside Xinjiang. Those fears were echoed later in 2009, when Dai Xu, a senior PLA Air Force colonel and professor at the PLA National Defense University, said this. The CCP is not just being paranoid. And now, here's some uncomfortable history that neither China or the US government wants me to tell you about. Back in the 1950s and 60s, the CIA actually helped Tibetan resistance fighters against the Chinese Communist occupation of Tibet. So there are legitimate fears that the CIA could do something similar for the Uyghurs if there was a war with China. And that's only one reason the CCP needs to have absolute control of Xinjiang before invading Taiwan. The CCP considers Xinjiang a gateway to China's Belt and Road Initiative. It physically connects China to Central Asia, Russia, and the Indian Ocean through Pakistan. Those are the trade routes that China will absolutely need to keep open if and when the world sanctions them for invading Taiwan and blockades critical choke points like the Strait of Malacca, where around 80% of Chinese trade passes through. So if this happened, it would be straight up devastating. Hey, this whole episode is about war, trying to keep things silly. Xinjiang is the CCP's pathway to all sorts of vital goods, from Russian gas and oil, to Pakistani rice, and Central Asian rare earths. But it's not just because of foreign trade that Xinjiang is valuable. The region itself has an abundance of resources. According to one Uyghur Radio Free Asia journalist, 40% of China's coal, 22% of its oil, and 20% of its natural gas come from Xinjiang. That's a lot of eggs in one basket. And I assume there are a lot of eggs there, too. Xinjiang is considered China's coal hub. China is planning to restart a massive coal-to-gas project there after a decade-long pause. The future of coal there is bright. Figuratively, since you can't see the sun through all the pollution. This is on top of Xinjiang's abundance of rare earths. As well as uranium. Uranium? I hardly know them. Just trying to keep things silly so we don't have a mental breakdown. In fact, last year, China found the world's deepest industrial sandstone-type uranium there. That makes Xinjiang pretty important not just for China's energy needs, but also for its fast-growing nuclear weapons program, which is on track to hit over a thousand operational nuclear warheads by 2030. Like I said, trying to stay silly so we don't get squashed by the terror of a potential nuclear Armageddon. In a war with the US over Taiwan, all these resources would be absolutely vital. And a lot of those nuclear missiles I mentioned are developed in Xinjiang, along with a bunch of other strategic assets like AI databases. Far from the eastern coastline and the front lines of conflict. That's why Xinjiang is so important for the CCP. And that's why the CCP is so invested in repressing the Uyghurs, crushing them not just with increased Marxist indoctrination, the destruction of religion, and massive surveillance in labor camps, but even with things like mass sterilization, and forced homestays hosting CCP officials. Not to mention rape as a form of torture. Yeah, not really a way to make that part of war silly. The CCP says that all of this is about dealing with terrorism. But, as that same senior PLA Air Force Colonel and professor at the PLA National Defense University, Dai Shu said, The CCP needs to control Xinjiang if it wants Taiwan. And boy does it ever want Taiwan. Xi Jinping didn't start any of this. When it comes to oppressing minorities, he's less of an innovator and more of a legacy. But it's very telling that when Xi came to power, he almost immediately went to work ramping up the Uyghur genocide. Because like the CCP leaders before him, he knows that the state of Xinjiang could mean the difference between victory and defeat in Taiwan. And that's not a tinfoil hat conspiracy.
