Exploring a Floating Monolith in the Hills of Poland
#concretehouse #hillhouse #landscape #architecture
Located on a steep hillside in Kraków, Poland, Konieczny’s Ark by KWK PROMES is a minimalist concrete house designed to adapt carefully to its mountainous landscape. Elevated above the terrain to avoid disturbing unstable soil, the home stretches horizontally across the site, allowing uninterrupted panoramic views from nearly every room. Its raw concrete structure, dramatic sloped roof, and movable entrance wall create a strong architectural identity while maintaining a deep connection to nature. Rather than dominating the landscape, the house quietly integrates with it, using simple materials, open views, and restrained design to create a calm and immersive living experience.
