Video Summary
AI GeneratedMargot Robbie and Daniela calibrate their experiences filming a new DC movie. They discuss the challenges of their roles, the unique process of working with animal actors, and the overall excitement of returning to the cinema for a high-energy, comedic experience.
Margot, Daniela, you guys look gorgeous.
OK, I have to know you're both happening in blue.
Was this planned?
No, we just put on and we're like, oh, that's cute.
It's like reading each other's minds today.
I love it. It's awesome.
Well, like I said, congratulations on this film.
Margot, how does it feel now that the release date is like finally here?
I'm just so excited.
I was a bit worried for a second that that people were never going to see
any movies again.
So I'm just so happy that we can finally share this movie with everyone
because it's it's really worth going back to the cinema for like
if people haven't been back to the cinemas yet, like this is the film
to see because it is such an experience.
It's amazing.
I got to agree with you because you got some really cool characters.
I mean, Daniela, what did you love most about your character
and how empathetic she is?
I love her kindness.
I love the fact that she because I have that
similarity with her
that I'm never looking for friends,
but I'm always making friends.
And I love that about her, like she's full of love
and ready to give everyone a little bit of hers.
Yeah, I got to agree with you.
I mean, she has just this like this sense of caringness about
about so many people around her.
And you really get you really feel that like James
was just seeing your praises about, you know, how perfect you were for this role
because you do a great job of portraying that character.
And same for you, I mean, James is telling me about this death
defying, really difficult stuff that you were doing really acrobatic.
I think you probably know what I'm talking about.
We had to use like your toes, like pick up a key or and put it in a lock.
And he's like, yeah, it was so difficult.
But but I've heard you talk about like how exhausting it can be to play Harley.
Is that why?
I mean, it's not just her fighting.
It's just she's just high energy.
She's hyper all the time.
She's she moves a million miles a minute.
There's no scene where you can kind of dial it isn't dial it in for Harley
because she's very yeah, she's kind of ADD and hyperactive.
So she's she can be exhausting, but she's also very, very fun.
I love it. Yeah, she definitely is.
So, I mean, do you know the next time that we're going to be able to see her?
We have to wait a while.
I don't know.
I don't know. Hopefully not.
Yeah, we're going to keep our fingers crossed for sure.
I've also seen you talk about how you you want to see more women in action movies,
especially as a way of ensuring that women are paid fairly.
Who would you like to see more of in action films?
Like who is a female action film star that we've got to be watching out for?
I mean, do you know who I think is just so amazing?
Emily Blunt. I love her.
I think she's so, so good.
And she's you know, she's great with that physical stuff, too.
An edge of tomorrow is the edge of tomorrow.
Yeah, I think I love her.
Yeah, yeah, she's awesome.
It's cool. I feel like we were really introduced to her in like Devil Wears Prada.
And as of late, we've seen her in like, you know, the Quiet Place movies
and like Jungle Cruise coming up.
It's like I agree.
She is a great person would be great for for more action roles.
Now, Daniela, tell me about working alongside just this incredible cast,
having an incredible director and this amazing DC universe.
It was it's such a dream to me still.
I just love this experience.
I felt really, really lucky.
And I still feel like this was a gift from the universe
because I never imagined myself working outside of Portugal,
neither outside of Europe.
And I'm I'm really, really happy to to start like
with the right foot with with such an incredible cast
and such an incredible script and director and movie.
Yeah, well, and a really creative character, because obviously
like your weapon is like rats.
Did you like tell me about how that worked in the film?
Were these real rats that you were working with or was this all like CGI?
How did that happen?
No. In my audition day, I had like a chemistry test
because James was thinking about like having real rats on set
and we got along.
I was really, really like in love with them.
And James loved it.
So I had a meeting when I was doing like feedings.
I had a meeting with three rats.
We got along again.
And yeah, there are meetings with animals.
It's crazy. I never.
It's a new kind of chemistry test, you and a rat.
Chemistry reads with a rat is definitely a good one.
Yeah. And yeah.
And during the shooting, I had I had the rats with me
all the time.
Oh, my God. Did you get to take any home?
No. James wanted me to adopt one, but I really wanted a dog
because it's easier to travel with.
Yeah. Yeah, I would assume so.
I mean, Margot, did you did you get to meet any of the rats
that you guys worked with?
Yeah, they're really cute.
I can't remember their names.
The main I can't remember the main rat's name.
They were so cute. So, so there was Jaws.
Chris Pratt.
Jaws, Chris Pratt and Squeaky.
Yeah, Squeaky is a perfect name for a rat.
That's that's incredible.
I love that there's there really is so much comedy in this film.
I feel like I was laughing a lot.
And and honestly, Margot, I watching like you reminisce
about John Cena and the cut out
that was in your ex-boyfriend's room on Don Kimmel.
I was rolling, dying laughing.
I know so many people have asked you about this.
Well, I got to know, though, what was the cut out of?
Was it like John Cena posing?
Was it like an action scene from his wrestling days?
What was it?
No, it's him posing.
It's like him with these like denim shorts and and the belt
and like doing this, doing these ones at the cap.
Yeah, yeah, that is hysterical.
Do you have like any old pictures of it?
Like that? That would be gold.
I do. Yes, I could find it.
But yeah, I wait.
There's oh, my God, I'm going to die.
It's so funny.
My my ex-boyfriend texted me.
He was like, why did you tell that story?
I mean, you didn't make him.
I know I didn't.
OK, look, here's here's here's here's John Cena.
Oh, my God.
Actually, incredible.
Margot, the fact that you have that picture, like it gives me so much joy.
Thank you so much.
You've made my entire day.
Yeah. And like and just watching this film, like I said, was was really,
really cool.
And, you know, the way that James talks about you guys
and working with you guys is pretty incredible.
Although, Margot, I have to say, James said that you can do literally everything.
He said that you're so athletic.
You're so great.
And, you know, really acrobatic action scenes.
He said the only thing that you can't do is sing.
Yeah. What is the singing shade that I'm hearing?
I can't sing.
I just just not in my repertoire.
I bet I try in the movie, but I'm not meant to be good at singing.
You know, it's not like Holly's got this amazing voice.
She's been hiding.
So I'm comforted by that knowledge.
But, yeah, I was I had to be like scream singing, passing out at the same time,
getting electrocuted while singing.
And maybe your your cover is amazing.
Your cover is amazing.
Yeah, my cover. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Really great to the top on iTunes, I'm sure.
Well, and like, you know, like James said, you have like a wealth of other talents
that that absolutely rely on.
Yeah. Yeah. Just just pay attention to the action stuff.
Oh, I'm out of time, guys. Thank you so much.
It was so great talking with you guys.
And congratulations on this movie. Thank you.
